HDU14 into 6x6 Doug Fir! With a non stacked 5 story building layout in a seismic zone I have had to install 4 pairs of these floor-floor. Along with 4 pairs of the (slightly) smaller HDU11, 2 pairs of the HDU5, 2 HDU8 into the slab and even more MSTC straps up to 18’ 6” in length. This is all in addition to a full Earthbound hold down system in 5/8” shear walls nailed on mostly 2” centers with 3” 0.144ø nails.
