Can you sense the sarcasm? Jason is the easiest horse to catch. He normally comes ambling over, if you happen to poo pick before you bring him in, you have a shadow.
Except today. Today I went to get him, and he took off down the field to kick out at Cola. He then proceeded to pin his ears and turn his back on me anytime I came within 2m or so, generally then chasing poor Cola down again. Merlin’s owner came to get Merlin, and tried to give me a hand by catching Cola too, but Jason wouldn’t let her near Cola either. I eventually gave up and called his owner, because it is so far out of character for Jason I was very worried something was seriously wrong with him. Merlin’s owner too said if she hadn’t seen it herself she would have assumed I was doing something wrong/exaggerating.
Owner arrives (perfectly happy to come an give me a hand, I love sharing with nice people), and we head up to the field. Get to the gate, Jason spots us. And comes ambling over to come in. Perfectly behaved, Cola came up behind, no bother. The little shit. Lovely ride too.
His owner is going to get his saddle and back checked, and potentially also scope for ulcers. It’s just so hard. He’s putting weight on now, finally, he’s going beautifully. But he has forgotten how to stand at the mounting block, he’s spooking at things that don’t normally bother him, and today I couldn’t catch him. But that could literally be:
Yay, spring grass!
I’m really glad my teeth don’t hurt anymore
My back hurts!
My belly hurts!
Where did Blue go? (he’s been sold, but used to be in Jason’s field)
Are you sure you guys want me to do this much work?
These new mounting blocks are scary

I'm in envi-sci in college & she had like 1 summer job working in a park so she thinks she knows everything & she also claims she used to run a deer rehabilitation place & she was a chef & she was a mechanic but she's only like 22 like when did you have time to do all of this or are you just incapable of keeping a job but like how did you get these jobs in the first place who do you know & when are you going to stop talking?

When I get a few spare minutes, I have been working away at this personal piece. This is Charlie, or Char-Char - who was my first greyhound, a tiny diva, who complained at everything and liked to dance and be rubbed down with a towel after it rained. She passed away far too young (osteo) and left a massive gap - and was the reason I picked up coloured pencils in order to distract from her loss. She was *gorgeous*!
