As part of the activities of the Student Research Club of Visual, Performing and Multimedia Arts, I had the pleasure of leading a monotype printmaking workshop.

During the session, we worked with printing ink, focusing on gesture, pressure, and the relationship with the surface of the print. Monotype became a tool for exploring the tension between control and Chance –  a space where the image is not fully predictable, but emerges through the process.

My intention was to approach the workshop not only as a technical exercise, but as an experience of working with proces –  observing how decisions, movement, and material shape the final outcome.

The resulting works are unique – each print is a record of gesture, time, and moment.

Wczoraj w ramach działalności Koła odbyły się warsztaty z techniki monotypii.

Podczas zajęć uczestnicy pracowali z farbą drukarską, eksperymentując z gestem, naciskiem i powierzchnią odbitki. Monotypia, jako technika łącząca element kontroli i przypadku, stała się punktem wyjścia do poszukiwania własnych środków wyrazu oraz pracy z procesem twórczym.

Powstałe prace mają charakter unikatowy, każda odbitka stanowi zapis działania, ruchu i decyzji podejmowanych w trakcie pracy. Warsztaty były przestrzenią do eksperymentu, obserwacji i rozwijania wrażliwości na materialny aspekt obrazu.

This workshop is designed for small groups and individual sessions, allowing each participant to explore alternative printmaking techniques at their own pace and receive personal guidance throughout the process. We will work with different materials, tools, and experimental approaches to image-making – from simple manual techniques to more expressive and process-based practices.

The workshop is open to different age groups and levels of experience. Whether you are just beginning your journey with printmaking or want to expand your artistic practice, the sessions create a supportive space for experimentation, focus, and creativity.
