Today’s session was dedicated to cliché-verre – a technique that exists somewhere between drawing, photography, and printmaking.

We worked on synthetic film, creating images by hand and then transferring them onto photosensitive paper. It’s a process that combines precision with unpredictability – where gesture, light, and material all play an equally important role.

Exploring the intersection of traditional and digital photography through the cyanotype process💙

During the classes I led at the Institute of Cultural Studies and Journalism (UIK), students experimented with light, composition, and materiality – transforming photographic images into deep blue prints using one of the oldest photographic techniques.

Working between control and chance, we combined digital preparation with hands-on, analog practice. Cyanotype became not only a technique, but also a space for reflection on the photographic image, process, and visual culture.
