Warnings: blood, talk of danger and death, an ominous unknown future

A/N: Welcome to the fourth week of Frightful October. The theme is Forgotten Tales, and this is a continuation of my story last week set in the King of Demons world.
This story could be read as a standalone, but it has a character from the previous story that you might wish for more information on. I also would like to set this up as a world of its own in the future if readers would be interested. As such, this could read as a prologue.
The Kingâs Sorcerer | The Huntsman | Gatekeeper | The Secret Library | Stories Told on Hallowâs Eve
Glancing over her shoulder another time, she hurried along a darkened alleyway, expertly taking turns into smaller passageways of the winding labyrinth. The creature couldnât be too far away, the stench of death and decay still consumed the humid air. She needed to move faster, but the injury to her side was slowing her down, risking the mission entirely. Delirium was hard to fight off, much like the pain, but as a seasoned warrior, someone who had endured darker hells than this, Airi knew she was strong enough to remain alert a little longer. The desperation in her chest pushed her harder, helping her slip around another corner. She almost gasped with relief when the flickering sign came into view. Airi had to get the message into safe hands, to ensure this all wouldnât be in vain. Too many had died tonight, and she wasnât even sure she would make it to see another dawn.
Her life was irrelevant in the grander schemes of things.
Heaving a deep breath, she stumbled into the bookstore, her pace driving her right into the countertop. Wincing at the agony of connecting with the wooden barrier she now leaned upon, Airi caught the attention of the bored attendant on the stool.
He wasnât even phased by her bleeding and dishevelled appearance, as if this was how most patrons came hurtling into the store. For all she knew, he probably witnessed entities like herself more often than not. Sighing, he placed a bookmark into the novel he held, and her eyes washed over the literary fiction with little curiosity. Now wasnât the time for pondering humans and their oddities.
âI need,â she started with a wheeze, hissing when it hurt to utter the words. âI need you to keep a secret.â
Kyungsoo wanted a holiday. He wasnât usually someone who dreamed of locations like Paris or Rome for a getaway. But after another night of sitting out front in his grandfatherâs bookstore, he craved going someplace else. Anywhere would be fine, so long as he could spend his time doing anything but inhaling the scent of paper. It had been so long since he breathed in fresh air or basked in the heat of the sun. His nights were long and boring, and aside from the shelves of books and the odd intrigued person who entered to see why on earth a bookstore would be open at 2am in such a location as this, it was just him here.
Every night.
For some years, Kyungsoo hadnât understood it either. Just why had his grandfather given up his life to guard such a place? And then, when the old man had grown frail, he begged Kyungsoo to take over for him since his parents were no longer around to do so. The idea sounded so preposterous to him. Someone like him didnât make sense in a room surrounded by books, even if it had been all heâd ever known. His family had a long history of being bookkeepers. Some of his longest companions had been the grimoires in the library that he had played and talked to as a child.
Flipping to another page in the book he held, he paused when he heard something in the distance. Angling his ear to the door, he listened until the pounding of his heart rate picked up and the thundering beat overwhelmed his ability to listen to the advancing steps his way.
Holiday options now forgotten, Kyungsoo counted down the moments until the door swung open.
It was an onslaught to his senses when the bell above the door chimed and slammed shut behind the patron. The metallic scent of blood filled his nostrils, and he could tell that the newcomer wasnât just drenched in the blood of their enemies. There was a sweeter note to the blood coming from their side, no doubt pooling into a hand as only one seemed to grip the top of the counter between them. The personâs breathing was ragged, as if they had endured too much. From what Kyungsoo could sense, heâd had to assume the worst.
Another mercenary.
Sometimes, and the main reason he sat out front in this lonely bookstore every night, not selling much and not caring to do so either, was because his family were in the business of keeping other books. Large tomes and grimoires that told the deepest and darkest stories that no history wished to repeat. Final words that needed to be written down or be lost forever. Or worse â they traded magical oaths in order to send messages to realms other than this one.
They were Secret Minders, bound to serve all those who entered this store in search of a place to store information that didnât belong in the hands of anyone else but theirs. Or his, since he was the only one left now.
He sighed. Although he had been bored out of his brain, he hadnât quite wanted to make such a long trek tonight before dawn arrived. It wasnât his strong point, but he would make do, he supposed. It would save him from having to do so in a few more hours.
âI need⌠I need you to keep a secret.â
He expelled another heavy breath at the femaleâs request, rounding the counter and heading towards the front door before turning the lock. He flicked off the neon sign outside, and the shop succumbed to darkness.
The light didnât matter much to him either way, but the person who had heaved out the sentence grew wary. It was her first time here, then.
âFollow me,â he stated gruffly, moving towards a door to the left. He didnât wait to see if she would follow him â or if she could even do so. Kyungsoo had learned over the years that offering someone a hand only made things worse for everyone involved. If she wanted to leave precious messages here, then surely she would make it to the library to do so.
Counting the steps internally as heâd always done since he was a child, Kyungsoo descended slowly into the lower parts of the building. He had once asked his father as a child whether the bookstore was the biggest building in the area with how many steps it took to travel back and forth to the storefront. He had merely chuckled and assured Kyungsoo that the bookstore was as small as a shoebox in comparison to everything else up there.
It hadnât been until he was a teenager that he realised the temple below the building was tethered to another world.
It was around the fiftieth step down when she acknowledged this also. âWe are no longer in the human realm.â
âWould you like to return?â
âNo. Hallowed brethren, no.â
He continued to count his steps in silence, listening to the breathing behind him as it grew more laboured. He hoped she would make it. Eventually, his steps evened out onto the marble floors, and Kyungsoo expertly weaved between pillars until he found the section he required. There laid a large writerâs desk, covered in piles of paper and pens.
âIs your secret a large one?â he enquired professionally; hands ready to reach for various types of paper. If it was simply a quick note to be sent between comrades, he would grab from the stack on the right. To someone they were intimately involved with, it would be the top papers, and for national leaders or governments, heâd need a bigger sheet located in the only drawer. He hoped he wouldnât need to reach to the left, but a sinking feeling in his chest knew before she uttered an answer.
âItâs a matter of life or death for my people.â
âAh. Are you aware of the price of such a message?â he replied, inhaling deeply before slipping his hands to the left. The coolness of the obsidian fountain pen sitting on top of the thick parchment froze him momentarily, and Kyungsoo offered the writing tool his desire for a vacation in return for its compliance.
Much like the books he guarded, the pens had minds of their own also. This one enjoyed the emotions of the beholder, especially if the person lamented something to it. He felt the caress of dark laughter wisp around him and then he was free to position the pen more easily in his hand, taking a piece of paper to put in the middle of the table.
âWhat just happened?â
âYour message and agreement on the price,â he replied, not sharing the details. Much as she needed someone safe to keep her secrets, Kyungsoo protected the mysteries of this place. In the wrong hands, this pen could wreak havoc, and the books that he governed could destroy a great deal more.
Secrets after all held a greater weight once whispered upon paper.
âYes. Iâm aware of what I will pay in return. Are you certain you will be able to write legibly, Secret Minder?â she questioned softly, and Kyungsoo grunted. She was observant then.
âI have the pen in my hand, do I not?â
âYes, butââ
âCome, I have not once complained about you bleeding upon my marble floors. Do you know how hard that is to clean up? You arenât here to discuss who I am, simply to ensure your message is sent before it cannot be.â
He was certain she straightened, and this was confirmed by a hiss pulling at her wound. The words she uttered were fast and lethal, and as he expertly relayed them with his tools, Kyungsooâs mind reeled. It sounded as if he was reading one of the older tomes in the corner bookstack that his mother had once found him opening and scolded him for the nightmares he had subsequently given himself for weeks. He had wet the bed every night for a month out of fear. Now, as an adult, he was thankful his fear was more appropriately distributed through his muscles tightening and the clenching of his jaw.
She let out a weary breath when she was done, and Kyungsooâs hand trembled as he placed the pen down on the tabletop, ensuring to put it over the left stack of papers again.
âI need you to place your seal upon this,â he instructed, and felt the woman lean in and pressed her hand into the parchment.
âHow long will it take to deliver?â a weaker-sounding voice wondered, and Kyungsoo glanced in her direction with a grim line on his mouth.
âIâll add it to the appropriate volume in just a moment. It will make its way to whom you asked me to address it to in an instant. Your message will securely reach its destination.â
âAnd then?â
âAnd then it will be very quick,â he announced, sensing her nod. He thought over the contents he had written down and attempted to smile. âYour name is Airi?â
âIt is.â
âYour name means messenger,â he murmured, and a small laugh left her. âYou have fulfilled that role then.â
âA mere message isnât enough for what is to come,â she coughed out, not following when Kyungsoo strode to a row of books near the desk, counting the spines until he handled the thirteenth volume on the third shelf. He opened it and hesitated in adding the new page to the book.
Glancing over his shoulder once more in Airiâs direction, he smiled sadly. âNo, I suppose not. But without such warning, many more people would die. You are a saviour to your kind.â
âThank you.â
He didnât say anything in return. In his earlier years, he would apologise profusely. Maybe even cry. Whilst tears prickled his eyes, he didnât let them fall. Instead, Kyungsoo shoved the page into the book, feeling it weld into place.
Airi didnât make a noise, not that he would have been able to hear her over the words he added being played out as they were sent to their destination.
A Queen.
It is in earnest that I risk everything to let you know. The old Gods have broken away from their prison and taken down an entire battalion as fast as an eclipse takes away the sun. I fear I may be the only survivor. They plan to head to our realm after some time building their energy and causing chaos in the human lands. I have sought out the Secret Minder in order to alert you, along with our allies that you must make haste in preparation for the Godsâ invasion.
They plan to kill us all.
Kyungsooâs eyes had closed upon feeling the words heâd written around him, and an image of a woman entered his mind. He stumbled into the shelving and gripped on tightly, consuming the image like a man parched for water.
It had been some time since he had seen anything, after all.
You didnât look like a Queen, not at first glance. As he washed his seeing eyes over you again, he didnât see a regal tilt to your head or a proud nose. There was no air of grace to the way you stood in the hallway of what he presumed to be a castle, and your tunic and pants ensemble was a far cry from a leader who sat on a throne and drank wine merrily.
But there was nothing plain about you either. He was utterly transfixed, much as you were at the parchment paper that appeared in front of you, confident hands reaching out to grasp it.
âSecret Minder,â you spoke, somehow knowing he was watching on. Perhaps you were older than you appeared and had met with someone else in his family before when they delivered messages. It wasnât often that the link between the message and scriber carried to its recipient, though. This was only his second time. âIs this true?â
âI merely write what Iâm told,â he replied, and you nodded once.
âVery well. Your message has been received. Is that the Temple of Secrets I see behind you?â
Kyungsoo blinked. You could see him too? That didnât happen last time.
âI uhââ
âI am in need of your services,â you continued, and somehow met his gaze. âI will come to you.â
And with that, his focus blurred until he couldnât see anything distinguishable again. He knew the link had been cut, and aside from the beating of his heart, there was no sound within the library. He moved back to where Airi had been last standing, stooping down to feel the ground.
He sighed as he held up a handful of warm ash. The payment had been made.

EACH OF THEM OWNS A PLANET. Each of them have powers more than the mortals could have.
Sehun was just observing his beloved good-looking people, the adonitians, just simply choosing the right hunting weapon that could fit their appearance best. He would never predicted that a sudden scroll would fall upon his lap, asking to be read by him.
He opened the scroll, knowing that it came from Junmyeon, his favorite leader of the Universe.
An eyebrow is raised, and he sighed heavily, "oh, not again!" Sehun buries his well formed visual with his own palm. "If this is the only way then I guess I have to head out to the mortal world."
He walked down his throne with heavy steps, his loyal people turning their heads to their leader, Adonis.
"Adonitians! Attention!" Sehun cleared his throat, "Junmyeon's order! I shall go to the mortal world and fight fairly, for the sake of us all."
"I'll go to the mortal world. I wish all the best for you." With those words, Sehun disappeared into thin air.
"âing to hunt it, I don't care! That's the only way they say, right?" Sehun could hear the muffled voices as he opens both of his eyes slowly, adapting to the brightness of the day.
The temperature rises, his skin started to adapt with the unusual heat. Mortal world.
The sound of the sword being pulled could be heard next. The high pitch fraction caused by it is loud and clear. Sehun turn around to see two mortals aiming their sword at him. The sunlight beams hitting the iron, creating a blinding light.
"Woah, not the face!" Sehun widened his eyes, both hands up in defense due to the surprised feelings and preparation he has yet to make. "Get that filthy sword away!"
A lady and a man. Sehun shrugs after examining both of the mortals standing in front of him, still holding and aiming the swords at him.
"I see Aphrodite and Adonis blessed both of you a bit." He smiled with proudness. The man suddenly widened his eyes, shaky hands of his dropping the sword down. "Yeah, yeah, I know." A mischievous smile is carved on Sehun's face. "I'mâ"
The man let out a really long sigh as he turns his gaze towards the woman.
"Adonis." He whispered, but loud enough to be heard by the latter, Adonis, himself. "Oh, what a smart mortal!" Sehun commented.
However, the woman's reaction pushed him to edge. "What?" She scoffed, eyes darting from the guyâpossibly her allyâto Sehun.
"Zeus and his tricks." She smirked. It comes off as a disbelief smirk. Next moves Sehun could observe was the pair of mortal giving him very cold stares, turning away.
Sehun could not believe it.
Mortals. Mortals..
The Mortals he knows would worship him. They would usually express their desire to have beauty, good looks, and blessed appearance.
"Hey, wait! Mortals!" He exclaimed, speeding his pace. The two mortals ignored his desperate calls, just walking away with a normal pace.
Sehun groaned. The sun keeps having contact with his porcelain skin. "Mortals! Your God demands you to stop!"
The lady could not bear Sehun's nosy attitude, pulling her sword and swinging it, accurately landing right in front of the Adonis' perfectly sculptured face.
"I said not the face!"
She rolled her eyes. "Do not follow our tails."
Sehun scoffed areogantly, his mouth turning into a sly smirk. "Excuse me? I'm Adonis."
"Yeah, and?" The lady asked, tilting her head, expressionless.
"That's mean hierarchy-ly speaking my position is higher than you mortals." Sehun pushed the sword that has been pointing at him for quiet awhile down. "And I shall get appropriate treatments now that I visit the Mortal World."
"Eris, let's go." The tall man that has been silent the whole time pulled the lady's wrist softly.
"Aha, Eris." Sehun chuckled, "that's your pretty little name? Taken from the Goddess of chaos, discord and strife."
"And you, another mortal, tell me your name." Sehun continued to act almighty while the pair are still on a little nerve fight; one demanding to leave immediately, the other's blood starting to boil.
"Excuse me? I'm a demigod." The man said, frowning. "I didn't know Adonis from Olympus could not recognize a Demigod." His facial expression changing into a very mischievous one. "Especially me, Chanyeol, The Son of Aphrodite."
The words are processed slowly by Sehun, and he blinked rapidly. "What?!"
Sehun groaned, holding his head, "I swear Junmyeon, you trickster Zeus." He growled lowly in annoyance.
It is clear. Junmyeon stripped off the Gods' power as he send them to the Mortal World.
He should have realise all the oddities since he just arrived, without knowing what first step he should have taken.

The truth behind the Salem Witch Trials has been erased, rewritten by humanity to forget the horrors of a war that almost brought mortals to extinction. After the beasts and demons unleashed during the time of bloodshed were locked away, covens of witches lived in secrecy, choosing instead to hide their powers to keep the world safe. Now, they live among us - healers, herbalists, psychics. The modern terms for witches never truly capture the magnitude of their power, but this is for our safety.
These days, the owners of The Shadow Kings bookstore in Salem donât tell anyone theyâre the strongest coven mankind has seen in four centuries. To be honest, they rarely talk to those who arenât customers, choosing instead to keep to themselves. Love, theyâve been told, is the key to causing more bloodshed.Â
So what do they do when their foretold partners arrive, unexpected and powerful, just before the anniversary of The Great War?
MINSEOK - THE KNOWING - [PERSISTANT GHOSTS]
As Salemâs most accurate palm reader, Minseok is rumored to be the most powerful psychic in the country. He doesnât bother confirming the rumors - he lets his premonitions speak for themselves. From person to person, heâs seen a lot of shit - heâs rarely surprised anymore. Until, of course, he meets you. You, he thinks, are the most surprising, and terrifying, thing heâs ever seen.
JUNMYEON - THE WATER KING - [EMPTY VESSELS]
Water is everywhere. Junmyeon knows this better than he knows most things. Water is everywhere and it is the source of life - it exists within and inside humanity. But water, he knows, erodes. It weathers a person, and it has dried him out and turned him into something cold. So what does he do, then, when he meets you, his moon?
CHANYEOL - THE BEASTMASTER - COMING SOON
Once the most social of the Shadow Kings, Chanyeol now spends his time doing three things: working at the shop, volunteering at the vet clinic, or summoning animals as he sits and meditates in the woods. He prefers nature and its creatures, understands their thoughts and feelings better than he understands people, mostly withdrawn after centuries of grief and loss. Heâs summoned a lot of things in his long life, but he never expected heâd summon you - or the hell youâd bring.
YIXING - THE SCRIBE - TBD
There are a lot of rumours about Yixing - the quietest owner of The Shadow Kings. The most popular one is that he writes down all your secrets, collecting and cursing you, ensuring you will never forget. He doesnât blame them - heâs almost always seen writing in his journal - and heâs glad theyâre wrong. The truth, is that heâs cataloguing: spells, incantations, evocations, the end of the world, and you.
BAEKHYUN - THE LIGHT BRINGER - TBD
For a long time, Baekhyun thought his power of light was useless. At best, it was an interesting party trick, something he could tease his friends with when they were drunk on Halloween. Itâs only when he starts studying with Yixing that he finally understands how powerful he is. Itâs only when he meets you that he realizes light is the most terrifying thing in the world - when it reveals all the terror in the world and when itâs in the wrong hands.
Summary: Chanyeol had watched his friends find their mates, watching as their smiles became ten times brighter than before. The pairs practically swallowing their other half in front of the beta wolf. It had been 5 years since Chanyeol's 20th birthday, the only wolf in the entire pack to have not found his other half the night of the celebration. He knew she was out there, he could feel her emotions, a dull throbbing in his heart when she was sad or stressed. The flutters when she was happy. However, he never expected to find her on enemy lines.

â˘â˘â˘
You silently picked at the sleeves of your oversized hoodie, head down as you listened intently to your Alpha. Ravi had been your Alpha for a little less than three years, taking the position of your father. Ravi had been your fathers beta, a good one at that. You and Ravi practically grew up together by the hip, some even thought that when he turned 20, you would end up being mates. Nope. Maybe that's why your father had given up his position to the 22 year old Ravi before his passing. You had never wanted the position anyways, stress never looked good on you and you were sure that somehow, and someway, you would fuck it up.
Ravi was good playing the Alpha role. He was strong, tall and handsome. His mate, Jane, was equally as stunning. She was a breath of fresh air for your pack, her kindness had lifted the spirits of many at the loss of your father. She had become one of your good friends, her and Ravi loved you dearly, respected and valued your opinions in meetings like these.
A new pack had moved into the next town over. One just barely larger than the one your father had kept together. To say you were nervous was an understatement. The way Ravi spoke about this pack made your stomach churn in all the wrong ways. You winced as his hand came crashing down in front of your figure, making you still and slowly meet the red eyes you had only ever seen one other time. Ravi was pissed, pissed at you for something you were unsure of.
"I expect an answer when I'm speaking to you Y/n." You let out a soft sigh, eyes wandering over to Leo who looked at you with soft eyes. "We've never had a pack move this close to us, everyone knows how bloody we make can make things for others when they step out of line. So tell me, why do you think this pack moved in?" You couldn't help but roll your eyes. Why was it a big deal? The pack could be peaceful.
"How the fuck should I know? I can't read the minds of others, dumbass." A growl ripped across the room, Ravi's knuckles turning white as he stared down at you.
"Y/n. I get we used to be best friends-"
"Used to?" You laughed, leaning back in your chair. "Used to be best friends? How about this Alpha, you can lay the fuck off. I don't know if you remember, but you're only in this position because of me. So don't you dare try and use your 'Alpha authority' on me. I don't know why the pack moved in, maybe they saw an open place and decided to take it because they needed more space." You crossed your arms, staring up at Ravi. Yeah okay. Maybe you lied about the respect and value. Maybe you lied about them caring for you anymore. But sometimes it's nicer to think of how it used to be.
Ravi inhaled sharply, stomping back up to the front of the room where drawings of the boarders were. "I'd watch that mouth of yours Y/n." He rolled his shoulders, Leo shaking his head disapprovingly at his Alpha's behavior.
"Maybe Y/n is right. Maybe their numbers increased and they needed a bigger space for their pack. They could be harmless." Leo spoke softly, his eyes never leaving yours as he spoke. Leo was a nice man, his cold appearance was always intimidating to outsiders. Maybe that's why you both seemed to be the others escape when things got rough. You had spent countless nights crying into his shoulder. Whether it be for your fathers passing or Ravi's new attitude towards you. Jane, well, she was a nice girl. She was your friend, and she did respect you. But she couldn't show you an ounce of kindness when Ravi was around. Sometimes it seemed like he blacklisted you to the pack, only keeping you here because of your fathers old position. But Leo was different. The only comfort that you have left in this pack.
"Can you stop sucking Y/n's dick for five minutes Leo." Ravi groaned, rubbing his temple. "You're not mates, so stop acting like it." Leo stood up at that, hand planting firmly on the table as he took a deep breath.
"Why don't you stop being an asshole to the girl you used to do everything with. Grow a pair and realize you miss when we would all hang out and watch movies all night. Maybe then you'll stop being a fucking prick." Kicking his chair back, Leo stomped out of the room, his back tense with anger.
"I think we should talk about the pack later, when we've all calmed down." Hyuk spoke. He was the problem solver, a good one at that. His soft hair fell over his eyes as he looked your way and then to Ravi. "The other pack can wait."
You stood from your chair slowly, bowing towards Ravi before you made your way out. "I miss when you used to smile at stupid things Ravi." You whispered as the door closed behind you.
â˘â˘â˘
Chanyeol groaned loudly, whining as Jongdae pushed him out of the way in attempt to reach the house before the others. "Junmyeon gets the large room Dae!" He yelled, watching his mate run after him. 'Sinners' his wolf snickered. Junmyeon patted the giants back, pushing him towards the house.
"I'm giving you the big room on the top floor, that way you don't have to be around all the... ya know-" Chanyeol cut the Alpha off, shaking his head in annoyance.
"You're the Alpha Jun, you and Suzy deserve the room." Chanyeol shook off the males arm, beginning to walk towards the house. Knowing full well, Junmyeon was going to force him to take the room.
"Maybe the new location will be good for you!" Junmyeon called out behind him, laughing when Chanyeol flipped him the birdie.
The rest of the day was spent attempting to get settled in, but the constant dull sensation of fear and sadness kept filling his limbs. It became a normal feeling after a year, the sadness from his mate and the fear that seemed to come once the sadness settled. He had no idea what was wrong with his mate. He didn't know where she was, if she was okay. It killed to know she was out there, without him. He wanted to know what her scent is, he wanted to know how soft her hair is, he wanted to know her. He didn't want to feel just her emotions anymore, he wanted to feel her. In his embrace, in his clothes, with his mark placed in the soft spot between her shoulder and neck.
His eyes closed, trying to make the sadness diminish. He wondered if she could feel his longing, his happiness when he thought of a future with his unknown mate. He wanted her to feel something other than the normal: fear, sadness and calm.
Baekhyun had knocked softly on Chanyeol's door, mumbling something about a pack meeting before he disappeared from behind the door. His guess was that a group was going to go on a patrol tonight. Scope out the borders around the human village that some pack families moved into, as well as the giant forest that surrounded the giant pack house.
He mumbled to himself, rubbing his eyes roughly as his feet padded down the wooden steps. As the second in command, Chanyeol was never allowed to miss a meeting. His input was always needed and he had to make decisions when his Alpha couldn't decide. His blonde hair was pulled back with a thick white headband, tank top hanging loosely on his shoulders, most definitely not dressed properly for a pack meeting. Chanyeol plopped down in the chair next to Junmyeon, nodding in the direction of his 11 brothers sitting patiently around the giant table. "Well, shall we start?" Junmyeon spoke, turning towards the giant bulletin board. "The neighboring pack, Blood Rise, is no joke."
It went on for what seemed like hours, Junmyeon not only discussing how we should somewhat fear the pack, but also boarder patrol groups. And he just happened to get stuck with Sehun and Jongdae. The biggest wusses that jump at their own shadows. "You're kidding." Chanyeol rubbed his face, leaning forward on the table as the latter glared at the giant.
"Nope, deal with it Yeol." Baekhyun laughed, swinging his arm over Kyungsoo's shoulders. Pulling a sour face, Kyungsoo flicked Baekhyun's arm off before crossing his arms.
"Why am I stuck with him again? Last time I check, Baek doesn't even know how to put on his underwear correctly." Kyungsoo eyed Baekhyun before turning back to Junmyeon.
"There's no tags okay! And it was one time! Damn, you put underwear on backwards and suddenly your stupid."
"You are stupid Baek." Jongin called out, giggling to himself silently.
"Would you all shut up, Yeol, Dae and Hun, go patrol before I beat you with a wooden spoon." Junmyeon laughed, running a hand through his hair as he pointed towards the door.
"No balls!" Jongdae yelled as he dashed from the room.

I don't know if it's too late, but could you do something with jongdae as a peter pan character and y/n as a wendy character? I can just see jong dae flying to your bedroom window in pan-like garb, ready to whisk you off to neverland... he's got that spunk and buoyancy to his character... hmm... just a thought that keeps occurring to me ;)
Ooooh, this is such a good idea and definitely fits Jongdae, @angelwithashatteredheart! I hope you like my version of your idea, love!Â

You were scared the first time you saw him.Â
Not that he was scary. Of course not. He was far from it! But, what was a young man doing on your windowsill, knocking incessantly so much that you had to walk up to him to make him stop?Â
Youâd let out a gasp once youâd realized that there was actually a person there at the window. But then, heâd smiled. His eyes turned to crescents and even though it was nighttime, it was as if heâd magically brought the sunshine with him through that smile of his. So, there you were, completely entranced by him and his smile, then you opened your window.Â
âYouâre ridiculous!â you laughed one night. Your homework was long forgotten while the piles of books and papers laid still on your desk. Instead, you were both perched on the floor, puzzle pieces lain everywhere while he propped himself on his elbows, his stomach on the floor and attempted to concentrate.Â
âRidiculous?!â he repeated, eyebrows raising in confusion. âThatâs such a big word, Y/N!âÂ
You shushed him for fear that someone might hear your new friend. âIt means,â you started but heâd immediately cut you off with a finger to your lips and a wink.Â
âI donât need to know what it means,â he smirked. âThatâll be my word for you. Ridiculous.âÂ
âThatâs ridi --.âÂ
âSee?! Itâs perfect! Trust me.âÂ
âJust try to sleep, Y/N,â he said, his voice soft. You had your blankets around you while you were in your bed, turned to the side as you faced the window. It was open, of course, so that he could come in. But now, he was seated on the floor, his back against your bed so that he could look up at you easily.Â
âI donât think I can,â you murmured softly in return, sniffling. Youâd gotten in trouble with your parents. Your grades started slipping. âThatâs not normalâ, theyâd said. âWhat are you hiding from us?â, theyâd asked. For once, you were happy and it had nothing to do with expectations and, yet, they couldnât understand. Except for him.Â
He turned to look at you, resting his chin against the edge of your bed as your hand peeked out of the blankets. You gently placed his hand over yours, squeezing it.Â
âIâll be right here.âÂ
âI always wondered what itâd be like,â he murmured softly, still inches from your lips.Â
He whined. He persisted. He dared you to do it.Â
And, you let him.Â
Your eyes fluttered open and he smiled softly. You could still feel his lips on yours. It was soft, gentle and cautious, nothing like him at all or how heâd been around you. It was as if heâd transformed from the first time youâd met him.Â
You licked your lips, trying to find your words. âHow is it?â you whispered, your eyes searching his.Â
There was a glint of mischief underneath the softness and he replied, âLetâs do it again.âÂ
âWill you always love me?â he asked you one night. You glanced at the calendar, unknowingly. He asked you that question every year, on the day that youâd first met him. Itâd be five years this year. Itâd been five years since youâd known each other. And while the mischief, the playfulness and the fun was there, it was different and you both knew it. But you answered him like you did every year: âAlways.âÂ
âCome with me,â heâd said, his hand outstretched. You took a ragged breath, looking at his hand then back at his face. He hadnât aged a day and yet you have.Â
âI canât,â you answered, your voice wavering. You glanced at your desk. Your work was piling up. You had responsibilities. Your world changed but his didnât. His heart remained steady and loving while he wished for everything to stay the same.Â
âCome run away with me,â he pleaded once more, his smile now gone and replaced with urgency. âWeâll be happy and you wonât be -- .âÂ
âWhere would we live? Where we would stay?â you stammered, your panic rising. âWhat would we do?âÂ
He paused, his hands reaching for your arms as he leaned his forehead on yours. âWeâd love each other.âÂ
âMommy, this man walked me home and gave me a lollipop!â cried your five year old daughter, her smile bright as she waved at you. Normally, you wouldâve chastised her for talking to a stranger and for taking a treat. But all you could do was stare.Â
His face was the same, his smile undeniable and his eyes still full of mischief. He held the hand of your daughter until she let go and ran into your arms. You were stunned until you felt your daughter hold onto your hand.Â
âYou have to be careful...â you started but faltered once you heard his low chuckle.Â
You looked up at him and he simply smiled right back at you. âHave a great day,â he said slowly as if heâd meant to say something else. He looked down at your daughter and waved. âDonât forget to have fun, alright, little one?âÂ
She nodded happily while you murmured softly, âJongdae.âÂ
