Sometimes I worry that by #exclusivelypumping and bottle feeding my #breastmilk to Millie that I am shortchanging her when it comes to the comforting aspects of nursing. She is so independent and I question if that’s because I forced her to be with my decision to pump. She self-soothes so well and sometimes I worry that I forced her to learn that because I spent so much time pumping those first few weeks. I think back and can hardly remember making the decision - was it for her or for me? But in these quiet moments, I realize that I’m still able to give her what she needs: love and comfort through touch and voice and the magical nourishment of #liquidgold.
