99% of the time, they’re used to refer to everyone who isn’t a lesbian (or who they don’t consider a lesbian) in a derogatory way, as if gay, bi, pan, and aspec people are all big mean monsters out to get lesbians. “Lesbinots DNI” “Notsbians ask to follow” wow, that suuurre doesn’t sound bi/panphobic, homophobic, and aphobic at all. Not to mention lesbian separatist, which isn’t surprising….

Plus, it sounds like 2000s teen movie language, so it’s hard to take it seriously. Then again, a lot of exclus lesbians these days like to live out their Regina George Mean Girls fantasies oh the internet.

It’s also close to a transmed dogwhistle. If you google "nonsbian" you’ll find a lot of transmed BS about how he/him lesbians, non-binary lesbians, etc are “not actually lesbians” and “not a part of the community.” And when you realize that a lot of the arguments against mspec lesbian and lesboy inclusion parallel the arguments against he/him lesbians… (“Just say you’re XYZ instead,” “men will invade our spaces,” “you’re invalidating trans men”)

this is the most performative trans ally ship of all time. AMAB lesbians are lesbians. Trans lesbians are lesbians.
