So I looked up the definition of transabled because generally, in a debate, if someone tells me to look up the definition of a word I actually do. The transID wiki includes people who "don't identify as disabled or don't identify with their diagnosis" in the definition, presumably to silence criticism from disabled people pointing out that you can't transition away from being disabled. But at a certain point denying your own disability becomes nearly impossible and certifiably ridiculous. Imagine me being like "I'm actually not disabled and don't have CFS" meanwhile my giant ass powerchair is just there like
equating empathy to caring is ableist, equating having no or low empathy to not caring or being able to care is also ableist. none of y'all knows what empathy means. emotional empathy is about being able to feel other people's emotions, cognitive empathy is about being able to understand other people's emotions. YOU CAN CARE WHILE NOT HAVING EMPATHY. people who don't have empathy can care and do care about shits, these are two different things.

As a younger brother of a disabled sibling it baffled me so much to learn that people subconsiously reach for the handles of a wheelchair whenever a disabled individual is supposedly blocking a path. For the love of god it doesnt hurt to use your fucking words "hey can you move back a few inches/ out of the way please" instead of, i dunno, violating someones autonamy?? Sure, you claim to care about ableism and the stigmatization of mental illness. But are you normal about people with NPD? Are you normal about people with BPD? HPD? Schizophrenia? Any other mental illness that's traditionally considered "scary" and "harmful"?
