"They Can’t Hold Me Down” Robert Glasper featuring Illa J "Everything’s Beautiful" produced by Robert Glasper brought Miles Davis’ sound into the 21st century, blending a diverse group of master takes and outtakes from across Miles’ incredible tenure with Columbia Records (1955-1985) with original reinterpretations. ”Everything's Beautiful" is a tribute to the legendary artist and was also released in conjunction with the film about him, "MILES AHEAD" earlier this year. During Zane's beats1 radio show on apple music, Glasper told Zane prior to premiering the song, "They Can't Hold Me Down" It reminded me so much of Dilla. This was a Dilla-esque beat, and with the 'they can't hold me down thing' it just reminded me of Dilla, so I was like, 'yo, let me get my man Illa J, which is Dilla's little brother.'" And voila. The album dropped on May 27, 2016 on Miles Davis's 90th Birthday!!
