The bullet we fucking dodged when Rebekah came back and had not started a human life and had a baby in the body of a dead black woman
While I found Ivy and Vincent cute in TO, of course, the writers had to kill her off, leaving Vincent alone again. I wished him and Eva were written differently as a couple.
Imagine if Eva and Vincent did survive as a married couple. What if they did have their baby? Instead of that horrible, Eva sacrificing kids (a way to permanently kill her off so that Rebekah could be the one in her body) and that ridiculous Hollow/Inadu storyline. Another storyline that again reduced the WOC as this evil monster who was murderous and crazy and powerful because... why again? Also, I'm not sure if I remember it well, but didn't the writers allude to Eva and Vicent's unborn child becoming a sacrificed to the Hollow/Inadu? Just... sick.
Anyway, the covens were already looking up to Vincent and wanted him to become the next Regent after Josephine died. He and Eva could've been a power couple/elders for the covens in NOLA if they wanted to, of course. Vincent, stepping down to protect his wife and unborn, would've been an interesting story, too.
They were individually lauded as powerful witches in their community and by the regent herself. Together, they'd have made a stand against the vampires in the city for their people.
Finally, why could we not just get one wholesome (power) couple navigating the supernatural world as a growing family? A ā«ļø couple at that, too.

The Originals 2x17-2x22 Review
So I watched TVD during quarantine last year, and even though I swore to never watch another Julie Plec show again, Iām watching TO! I thought Iād share my thoughts, let people know how much I love Elijah Mikaelson in a suit or how I enjoy diabolical planning. You can find my reviews of S1 and S2 on my blog.
2x17
Oh god, this looks like a psychological battle between Eva and Rebekah
YES SNEAK PEEK OF GILIJAH
I love that baby Hope just looked around like āwhatās going onā
OH MY GOD GIA, HAYLEY AND ELIJAH MEETINGā¦SO AWKWARD AND FUNNY
That is sad, those poor kidsā¦canāt even be reunited with family
Honestly, I get why the witches want Eva, I LOVE Rebekah but Eva is clearly a dangerĀ
The two kids most wronged by Esther having a meeting with herā¦things are about to get messy
Imagine a Bonnie Bennett and Davina Claire friendship. They've both been fucked over, used, killed. I personally headcanon Bonnie's family roots lie in Louisiana so she has ancestors buried there. So she relocates to NOLA, meets Davina and they bond and Marcel is grateful Bonnie is a friend to her.
Oh, now there's an idea.
Both teenage witches uses as nothing more than tools by the vampires around them, usually to help them out of the horrible messes they got themselves into in the first place. (I remember every time Damon asked for Bonnie's help after every horrible thing he did to her, and then the same with Klaus and Davina in the first season and I cringe.) It would have been nice to see two characters often treated like utter crap by both the narrative and the fandoms become a force to be reckoned with.
Especially if they'd actually done New Orleans the way they should have. It would have been great to have Bonnie experience life (and her craft) where she wasn't the sole black person around. I could see Vincent teaching her magic she'd never dreamed of, and he would have been the perfect teacher, because Vincent was all about control and he had a natural disdain for the Spirits and the Ancestors, refusing to let them boss him around, which is something I would have loved for someone to instill in Bonnie.
I had this headcanon years back, once Kevin Williamson did the "spinoff" (but not really) show of The Secret Circle, that Bonnie could have been another one of John Blackwell's many children. I mean, since they opened season three of TVD without Bonnie (she was away visiting someone), it would have been a perfect opportunity to have her just leave the show and be the lead in a spinoff focusing on witches. I remember headcanoning that so hard because by that point we had never met either of Bonnie's parents, and then when we dis, she looked nothing like her dad (I swear the studio probably just thought if they cast a black man no one would notice the non-resemblance). Having John Blackwell be her father would have opened up a whole can of worms where Bonnie didn't need the spirits to practice magic and would explain how she took to Dark Magic so quickly.
Same thing with Davina. In all five seasons of that show, they never even mentioned her father (that I'm aware of). And yes, while I am aware (and fully support) Marcel was her dad, these shows put such a heavy emphasis on blood relatives, so it's weird that we never got to see who fathered her. Could have been another easy opportunity to tie this into TSC by making Blackwell her dad, as well. Give Davina the opportunity to prove how powerful she was without the Ancestors bossing her around.
We could have combined these two storylines and had two characters who always thought they were alone realizing they had family in other places. Plus, I would have paid good money to watch Bonnie whoop Freya's ass after what she did to Davina in season three. I know a lot of people didn't like Davina because she went against the witches or because she didn't kiss Klaus' pampered ass, but she didn't deserve to suffer like that for the sake of a family that lived more than their share of lifetimes.
Plus, while I'm at it, why don't we throw Kaleb in there. It would have been nice to actually meet him instead of Koleb. We could have had Eva reuniting with Vincent, with her being put in the Asylum for trying to stop the Harvest (that ritual was so fucked up) instead of her being crazy because of The Hollow. That could have led to Vincent abandoning the Covens. Hell, we even could have had Luke and Liv running away from the Gemini Coven to escape the crazy Merge ritual.
See, just like that I created a Coven of misfit witches that the narrative treated like utter garbage. Hey, @ The CW, hire me to write for you instead of the garbage you keep pumping out.
