I realized that Eurytomidae is a family of wasps I haven't drawn yet, so I was inspired to draw Symbra potiguara from the subfamily Heimbrinae. A pretty funky-lookin' gal. Drawn with coloured pencils.

few things are more exciting than spotting a parasitoid on a gall, but the fun can easily be ruined when said parasitoid just wanders around sniffing and never actually oviposits, like this Eurytoma on an Andricus quercustozae gall. i'm sorry, is that gall not good enough for you? do your children need more prestigious galls? do they only eat purebred larvae? do you want to put them in a private gall and pay gall tuition? get real

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, there’s another wasp that out-weirds the others. This Eurytomid is definitely a contender for one of the weirdest looking wasps I’ve ever seen! There’s a wasp in every shape, colour, size, you name it!Â
