A/N: Hi fantasists! This is a short story Celeste has been working on based on a song titled โilymโ which was written and sung by John K and ROSIE. I suggest you listen to their well-written song before reading this because it is truly heart-touching, The lyrics are highlighted in bold italics for easier reference :) That being said, I love every single one of you and we hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing this. Summary: Unreceived I love youโs from one to another.ย
He was getting stares from his roommates, but he couldnโt care less. What filled his head was not the people around him, rather her heavenly laugh that would put a grin on his face subconsciously. The piercing pain on his jaw came unnoticed as he continued making rather lame jokes to his ears, but ridiculously hilarious to hers.
โJames, have I told you how much of a darling friend you are? Over.โ Her smile could be heard between her words. Saying โoverโ after every message sent through the walkie talkie was a joke that soon became a habit. Although โfriendโ is a harsh way to summarise their relationship, they kept it that way. Commitment was one of their fears and they were far from ready to create something more.
โOh, Iโm aware. Being this charming doesnโt help controlling your desires, does it? Iโm sorry, Iโll try to tone it down, although it will be quite tricky. But for you-โ
โJames!โ Her laugh filled his ears as she tried saying โoverโ in between of her small giggles, which also caused James to laugh along. โYou didnโt let me finish my sentence, over.โ
The laughter calmed down, and James found himself picking on the edge of the walkie talkie, hesitating his next few words. โY/N,..-โ
โJames! Itโs professor McGonagall! Hurry!โ But he was abruptly cut off by his roommateโs warning. Hurriedly shoving the walkie talkie behind his back, he shut his eyes, hoping the professor would believe his acted-out lie. The door creaking open could be heard, leaving the room painfully silent before slowly shutting the door once again.
James exhaled out of relief and snatched the previously shoved walkie talkie to see if she was still there. โY/N?โ But to his defeat, she wasnโt.
After laying on his bed and staring at the ceiling for a good five minutes, thinking of what he failed to say before professor McGonagall barged in, he escaped the warmth of his sheets and walked to his table. Grabbing a pen and a sheet of paper, he proceeded to write down his unknown feelings which he failed to express a moment ago.

She fed off the heat from Jamesโs hand as she watched the muggle movie which she sneaked away to watch. Although, it seemed to be James with the firmer grip.
She looked up at him and smiled, oh how lucky she was for having a man like him this close to her. โJames, itโs not even that sad, why are you crying?โ
Her words caught his attention which led his teary eyes meet hers. โTheir love inspires me. How could they still find comfort in one another after all theyโve been through?โ
Her smile grew wider as her eyes studied his, โTheyโve got nothing on us.โ
He wondered what wouldโve happened at this very moment had he told her the words he wanted to that night.

The cold droplet of water that escaped his left eye and onto his hand caused him to snap back into the present. Holding a twitching, yet firm smile, he tried wiping the sorrow off as he glanced at the letterโthe letter he should have given her when he still had the chance. โIt was fun while it lasted,โ His blurry vision angered him. It was his fault. He didnโt deserve to sorrow for her.
His hand reached the rough paper, caressing it as if she could feel it.ย
