a biting cold greeted jude as he exited his accommodations that morning, layers haphazardly draped on to prevent a total freeze. not that it was particularly beneficial to him; after all, the cold was not something to take ‘no’ for an answer even from the most ardent of opposition. a shiver ran down his spine, and a faintly veiled curse tumbled from lips unaccustomed to such words. it was god damn cold, and so was he. it seemed, as well, that he was far from the only one.
a woman clad in red with flowing green hair also stood in the cold, seemingly about to freeze to death if her reaction was any indicator. glancing around, jude found a potential salvation for both of them; a stand erected to serve hot chocolate in this kind of weather, a veritable godsend to one in his situation. (he still isn’t quite sure if this is milla’s divine intervention. he settles on ‘no’, simply because she’s no great spirit here.)
“ I’ll take two, please. Of your largest size, if I can. ” jude knows that this cold is difficult to overcome, and knows he’ll need every drop of his hot chocolate to keep warm for now; after a few minutes of waiting and continued shivering, his order is handed to him, and he swiftly makes his way over to the woman far unsuited to this climate. “ Here. I got this for you. I... uh, I saw how badly you were shivering and figured this might help. ”
