I love that Michael is canonically described as seeming like this sweet, polite, tall blonde guy who buys flowers and goes to coffee shops and appears completely nonthreatening...yet is also the first monster to physically scar the Archivist. That dichotomy is just SO FITTING for The Spiral it’s perfect.

So TMA has evidently found its way into my OChem class based on the reaction we’re studying right now:
- it’s called ROBINSON annulation
- it’s a synthesis reaction where you put two reagents together and they react to form something new
- “adding” Michael Shelley to The Distortion’s corridors does end up resulting in a “Michael addition product” in the fused being that is not completely Michael Shelley but is also not completely The Distortion

So I think the whole “Archivist/Archive” title thing is cool, and I thought it would be fun to try to “name” roles within other entities (Italics = already canon, not something I made up)

Quick sketch of Michael that I was randomly inspired to do on my whiteboard
When Michael tells Jon, “I am talking about myself. It’s not something I’m used to doing, so I’m sorry if I’m not very good at it,” there’s a bit of a genuinely apologetic note in its voice.
I think that’s the first time we hear the pieces of Michael Shelley’s soul that remain within the Distortion, partially because it’s saying something that probably wouldn’t have sounded out of place if Michael Shelley had said it.
