Equius Zahhak x Reader Getting to Date Headcanons:

Nepeta was the one to help this oaf confess to you

she just positively knew that her meowrail needed help!

Equius would never talk to you. Just stare with a sweaty blue blush and stutter when you smile and wave

Nepeta chats with you and always brings up her meowrail all the time

and you never had the chance to talk to him up close so you didn’t turn her down when she asked if you wanted to come over and draw and equius will be there

he was quiet but did participate on drawing

“equius!!! you’re supposed to draw on what you think is cute!”

“but i am nepeta, im drawing robots. th-this one looks like (Y/N)” he was panting heavily saying that.

nepeta told him not to when she was practicing this with him, teaching him how to flirt with you

she side eyed you, hoping the panting doesn’t off put you

You smile at him and looked closer. “maybe the chalk is ruining it, but i don’t think this looks like me. it is cute though!”

Equius was losing it! what to say now? what did nepeta tell him to say?

Nepeta almost smacked herself in the face. “you’re cute!” she mouthed, basically whispered to him

“you’re cute.” Equius spit out at you

Equius could only nod furiously, not trusting himself. the chalk now dust between his hands

So first off, I feel like so much of the fandom just heavily ignore the friendship between Vriska and Equius, and idk why but I just love their dynamic so so much. I’d like to think that before Equius and Nepeta became moirails, they tried aswell, but obviously this did not work out well at all for either of them, so they just settled on being friends

Another little one that has been bouncing around in my head is that because of how STRONG Equius is, he can’t exactly hug nepeta because he doesn’t want to risk hurting her, and to combat this, Equius kisses her instead. Now because of how different troll and human relationships are when one of the beta kids first saw this (feeling either Jade or John) they were kinda like “aww that’s so cute!! How long have you guys been dating for??” And nepeta and Equius were just kinda like “…. Wait what???”

The cookies I specifically have in mind are Linzer Cookies, they're heart shaped with strawberry jam in them, I think they'd all really love them :3

oh, i used to be really great at baking! i haven't tried in a while, though. i wonder how it'll go if i try to make anything for thanksgiving....

He is in LUCK to have you as his partner, really.

He's perfectly fine at cooking. Regular type of food. It's not great, but it's not bad.

However,, he just can't bake. And it frustrates the HELL outta him.

So you two can work the kitchen in a weird sorta perfect harmony!

He's thankful because sometimes he craves sweets. I mean hey, who doesn't? And now he has a cool s/o who can help him make them!

And yes, he means help him. He doesn't like accepting gifts, and he's way too stubborn about it.

Although.... if you watch him after leaving a gift of baked goods for him to find, it's impossible to not spot a huge grin on his face about it. He'd deny it if you ever brought it up, though.

Oh he definitely has a sweet tooth. You cannot tell me that he doesn't.

So he just ADORES you. You're absolutely perfect for him!!!!

He loves any little baked good gifts you leave him. Like, he's very open about showing his affection for the baked gifts.

A little too open. Baked good gifts do not last long with him. Boy likes to munch. Especially when you've baked for him.

But, of course if you asked him to share, he wouldn't be against it. No, not at all!

...Just be sure to ask before he eats them all.

Equius

Unfortunately, Equius isn't much of a sweets guy.

Just doesn't prefer it. It's not like he hates baked goods, though! He simply... doesn't prefer them?

He does really enjoy your baking though, on the rare occasion that he does accept a gift or crave something sweet.

He gets a big dopey grin on his face whenever you gift him a box of cookies and sweets, and it's so obvious that he loves you, truly.

Unspecific Hcs For Equius Zahhak

- he/him, demiromantic bi

- autistic, he uses sunglasses bc of photosensitivity (which used to be pretty bad in alternia, but he can deal with earth-c's sun)

- has a hard time with eye contact when he's nervous, a lot bc he's quite insecure about his social skills and is afraid he's acting too weird

- although he rarely takes off his glasses, his eyes are very expressive, the whole stoic highblood facade washes away immediately

- he struggles to find ways to deal with emotions and sensory overload so he often resorts to breaking things (usually robots) when he has to deal w that

- he tries to overcompensate not feeling like he lives up to the expectations of what a highblood should be like being trying too hard to act like it, he definitely exaggerates how much he admires strength

- continuing from the point above, he even feels bad about the amount of effort he puts on trying to live up to highblood expectations, which ends up w him having issues w his own body and the way he acts

- that said, he feels very loved when he feels like he can act truly like himself around someone (for example, nepeta)

- when he begins to let go of the ideals behind the hemospectrum, he starts to put down the facade for more people and even changes how he dresses a little while he works out his body issues

- he LOVES cold weather bc he gets to use more clothes without sweating constantly. turns out he rlly likes long sleeves and turtlenecks

- equius shows love to ppl mostly through acts of service, he thinks he isnt very good with words but he can always do things for people

How would the zahhak fam react to the reader (friend) saying "i'm being petty? of course i'm petty, i'm a sagittarius! everyone knows we're petty as f.ck" to someone on the phone during a argument?
