《Meulin was quite the inquisitive and ambitious girl. Even in her youth, she became interested in stories about the exploits of our homeland's heroes, and then a creative impulse emerged. She spent a long time persuading me to teach her writing and reading. Lowborns aren't taught such things; there's no need for them. Eventually, I gave in and, when I went out on duty, made sure to grab a book and quill. We would meet by a tree not far from her village and, hiding under the shade of the foliage, begin the lesson.

She's long since grown up now, and I've seen a lot in my cycles. At our last meeting, she spoke of a teaching their leader was promoting to the needy people: glory, freedom, wisdom. Now she's asking me to join their rebellion. It all worries me. I don't care about the others, about their lofty dreams that will shatter against harsh reality, but about Meulin...
