ughhhh this hurts. chopper going back to his own people who still hate him. because that's literally all he has left.
ugh. it's cliche to say it gave me chills, but god. a deadened and bloodied chopper is unsettling. incredibly sad.

fuck... this episode is just gut blow after gut blow. i love chopper and hiriluk full stop.
what i love about chopper's backstory is that at the end of the day, it's about two very messed up people who love each other more than they hate the world. he is a psycho who pushes away others, and chooper is someone who has nobody else. their relationship is unbreakable, built on love, true genuine love.
ugh. ugh my HEART this episode is SO DAMN SAD.

never in a MILLION years would i have guessed this twist! a fucking brilliant rugpull by oda.
broken record here: this scene one again hit like a truck. chooper crying with doctorine as the music plays a holy choir. i was crying here.
i am not okay. the tears will not stop.
this is another one of those fundamental one piece moments for me. these past few episodes are some of the most emotional storytelling i've seen in an anime or a manga. chopper's faith in his dying hero, a man who wanted to save the world but lost himself, and a warrior who realized he was fighting for a false dream. and they are all intertwined. it's just gut punch after gut punch as each piece of the puzzle falls into place. chopper is one of the more tragic straw hats i think, and this backstory cemented him as one of my favorites. he just... there is something so wonderful and pure about someone who truly genuinely wants to help people, even at the cost of themselves. that's what life, all of humanity, is all about.
