HOUSE OF FINWĂ
MĂriel ĂerindĂ« ft. FinwĂ«, MĂriel ĂerindĂ«, FĂ«anĂĄro This is under MĂrielâs name, but really itâs mostly about FinwĂ«, since MĂriel got her own edit with her parents. I think it was moiety who introduced me to the headcanon that FinwĂ« invented the wheel. His loneliness/desire to bond is a headcanon, one that I explore in my fic Rules of the Soul, which is pretty much canon to this verse. FinwĂ«, MĂriel, and Indis being in a poly relationship is fanon, and the specific details here are my headcanons. We do know that FinwĂ« knew Indis when the Noldor and Vanyar lived together in Tirion; we donât know about if she had a prior relationship with MĂriel or not, but I like to think they did. The details of FinwĂ« and FĂ«anorâs relationship are canonical, though embellished.
FĂ«anĂĄro ft. FĂ«anĂĄro, Nerdanel, NelyafinwĂ«, KĂĄnafinwĂ«, TurcafinwĂ«, MorifinwĂ«, CurufinwĂ« II, PityafinwĂ«, TelufinwĂ« [BIG SOB] I DID NOT WANT THIS ONE TO BE THIS DAMN LONG BUT ITâS FĂANOR SO WHAT CAN YOU DO??? Some brief notes on the images: I did in fact edit a pointy ear onto the stone art for Nerdanelâs graphic :P I donât think Maedhros is particularly attached to owls (I envision him with ravens tbh) but there was a limited number of pictures of the model I chose for him (and heâs going to appear many times in this series, so often in fact that I did have to reuse one picture despite not wanting to.) And yes Amrod and Amras are portrayed by the same model, donât @ me, theyâre âalike in mood and face.â Iâll be as succinct as I can here. MUCH of this is headcanon. The first paragraph is all canon. We donât know if RĂșmil actually mentored FĂ«anor, but itâs entirely plausible. FĂ«anorâs innovations in linguistics and gemcraft are canon. I go with the concept that FĂ«anor was like, a tween when FinwĂ« remarried; old enough that FinwĂ« thought he could handle it but young enough that FinwĂ« was wrong. Indis caring for FĂ«anor as a kid is headcanon. Note that FĂ«anor has no idea that Indis and MĂriel were both FinwĂ«âs lovers in the past (this is headcanon but his lack of knowledge is important). I donât personally subscribe to the theory that FĂ«anor got along with Findis, but I donât think he hated her the way he hated Fingolfin. The stuff about FinwĂ« naming his kids after himself and then later adding prefixes is from the Shibboleth; I wrote a fic about it which you can read here. The exact dynamic between FĂ«anor and his younger two half-siblings is my headcanon. FĂ«anor and Nerdanel were canonically âcompanions on many journeysâ; the bit about them not knowing who each other were at first is my headcanon. Nerdanelâs ~homely~ appearance is canon, and so is their relationship dynamic. Nerdanel getting pregnant before the wedding is headcanon. The name âNelyafinwĂ«â being a slight to Fingolfin is a fairly common interpretation but not explicitly stated to be canon; same goes for my interpretation of the name âMaitimo.â Maedhrosâ personality and place in FinwĂ«âs court is extrapolated from the text but not technically canon. We do know that FĂ«anor had silver/grey eyes, but that Maedhros had them too is headcanon. He is canonically a redhead, and I am firmly convinced that he was among Nerdanelâs sons to whom her mood was bequeathed. Everything about AnairĂ«, including her past friendship with FĂ«anor, is headcanon. We donât know the dates of birth for any of FĂ«anorâs kids, or for Fingon, so all of that is headcanon. FĂ«anor stealing the name âKĂĄnafinwĂ«â from his brother is headcanon, but not one of mine originally; I donât however remember where I first saw it. Same for the marked similarity between âTurcafinwĂ«â and âTurukĂĄno.â Fingon and Maedhros were canonically friends in Aman; I threw Maglor in there too, though I think as he grew older he kind of drifted away from them while Mae and Finno stayed close. Turgon and Finrod are canonically born in the same year; I threw Celegorm in there too, but thatâs headcanon. We donât know how early the Celegorm and Curufin buddy dynamic started, but I headcanon it was pretty much always there. Celegorm delaying his plans to join OromĂ«âs Hunt is headcanon. The details of FĂ«anor and Fingolfinâs feelings on their eldest sonsâ friendship are headcanon. I donât know if 5 was actually the max number of kids for elves before FĂ«anor and Nerdanel, but Iâm pretty sure itâs canon that no one else ever had as many as 7. My interpretation of the name âTelufinwĂ«â is headcanon; Argon being born after him anyway is as well. I have a weird fondness for the idea of FĂ«anor and Argon getting along, but thatâs absolutely completely headcanon. The argument over the Ambarussaâs names is canon with embellishments. I do think they reconciled after that for a time, but the details of how/why are headcanon. Celebrimborâs father name also being âCurufinwĂ«â is popular fanon but not canon. We donât know the timing of the whole Galadriel hair thing, but that did happen in canon. The development of the Silmarils is canon. The unrest of the Noldor is canon, and appears here in a condensed form, and I sprinkled in some embellishments here and there. I do go hard on the Good Dad FĂ«anor interpretation, sorry not sorry; I hope itâs clear that I think his family loved him very much and that he was not always as crazy as he becomes. Nerdanel refusing to follow FĂ«anor and instead moving in with Indis is canon, and also a huge power move. The events of the Darkening are canon, and appears in a condensed form. I stole the entirety of the Oath-swearing paragraph directly from the Silm because itâs just that good and needed to be emphasized dramatically. I did tweak it a bit, namely using Quenya instead of Sindarin, and capitalizing the word Oath. The canonical sequence of events is actually that the Oath is sworn and THEN the Noldor have their argument about whether or not to leave, but the story flowed better here if those events were flipped, so I just flipped them. The Kinslaying is canon and appears in a condensed form. Uinen did canonically drown some of the FĂ«anorian followers in their first try at sailing, which is a detail I think deserves more attention in the fandom! The Doom of the Noldor is canon/condensed. The ship-burning is canon/condensed. I mix the two versions of Amrodâs fate into a Lightly Toasted Amrod âverse; he does burn, but survives, and the details of how are my headcanon, but everything before his rescue is canon to the Shibbolethâs version of events. I do think FĂ«anor had a moment of lucidity after this, but thatâand my emphasis on his madness in general, tbhâis headcanon, or at least artistic license. Maedhros advising FĂ«anor not to rush ahead is headcanon. FĂ«anorâs battle with the Balrogs is canon. I do need Amrod to be there to reaffirm his Oath, but him being separate from his brothers as they rescue their dad is headcanon. There is a version of events where the Elessar (aka the Green Stone of FĂ«anor) is given to Maedhros on his deathbed (and then later from Maedhros to Fingon); this did not survive to later drafts, and making the stone a symbol of FĂ«anor passing kingship to Maedhros is my headcanon. FĂ«anorâs death and ultimate fate are canon, with a bit of embellishment. Dear god I hope that the Maedhros caption is not as long as this, but considering I have even more headcanons for my Very Favorite Kinslayer, Iâm not optimistic..........
Maedhros ft. Maedhros Okay, well, definitely NOT shorter. In fact the length of this one pushed me to actually use a readmore for the first time in this series (well, that and the descriptions of Maeâs time in Angband). And can you believe this edit only covers ONE PERSON???? (Can you believe Iâd originally planned to shove all of this into the same edit as Fingon?????) Same thing as last time for disclaimers; buckle up. If I went over something in the FĂ«anor edit that also appears here, Iâm skipping over it. The details of Maedhros and Fingonâs friendship in Aman are headcanon; pretty much all we know about it is that they were indeed friends. Yes, Fingon is trans <3 There will be more on him in a later edit. The details of Maedhros and Fingonâs romance are headcanon, and not even the full extent of my headcanons about them, but there really was only so much room in this edit (I say, when this fucking thing is nearly SEVEN THOUSAND WORDS LONG). But especially the details of their marriage are my ideas and not found anywhere in canon. The origin of the name âRussandolâ is headcanon; canon actually states that it was a name used by his brothers and other kin, but Iâm so desperately attached to the it-was-Finnoâs-name-for-him fanon that I ignore that. Basically everything Maedhros does before the Darkening is headcanon. He does canonically follow his father to Formenos. In HoMe, it is Maedhros who delivers the awful news about FinwĂ« and the Silmarils (by running into the Ring of Doom and screaming âDEATH!!!â which is just iconic); I adapted that here. For all I do see Maedhros as the level-headed peacemaker of the FinwĂ«ans, I did want to emphasize that heâs absolutely on his dadâs side; I hope that came across. Once again the Oath paragraph is lifted almost verbatim from the Silm; I did throw in a little line about Maedhros leading his brothers to swear it alongside their dad. Maedhrosâ regrets after AlqualondĂ« are headcanon but also I think in line with what we see of him in canon; same for Fingonâs lack of regret. Maedhros looking out for his followers and saving some of them from Uinenâs wrath is headcanon. Maedhros asking after Fingon and then standing aside at the ship-burning is canon; him saving Amrod from the fire is headcanon. Maedhros advising FĂ«anor against running to Angband is headcanon. Maedhros becoming king after FĂ«anor is canon, as is the timing of the arrival of Morgothâs messenger. Canon does not explicitly state how much time is between that message arriving and the actual battle, so in order to give Maedhros some actual time as king I headcanon that it was at least a year before he finally agreed, and that he asked the Sindar for aid in that time. Heâs not stupid, after all, even if he agreed to something he knew would break bad. We know that everyone who went with him to that parlay died, and that his brothers survived, so necessarily his brothers did not go with him; that he ordered them to stay behind is headcanon. His thoughts about the whole situation are headcanon. Everything that happened to him in Angband is headcanon. Being hung on Thangorodrim is canon, though the inciting incident for that particular torture is my headcanon. Any interaction Maedhros has with Sauron is headcanon/fanon. Fingonâs rescue of him is canon <3 <3 <3 though I did add some embellishing details. The details of his recovery are headcanon, though we do know he did recover and became strong again, and the bit about wielding a sword with his left hand better than he had his right is canon. Canon says nothing about where it was he healed, so I go with my angsty headcanon that the FĂ«anorians have no idea heâs alive until the most dramatic possible moment (I sort-of-ficced that scene; you can read it here). The details of him reasserting his authority are headcanon; we do know he gave horses to the NolofinwĂ«an host, though, and him ceding the crown to Fingolfin (and ânot allâ his brothers being happy about that) is canon. The new bond between Amrod and Maedhros is headcanon and an extension of my Lightly Toasted Amrod headcanons. Maedhrosâ exact reasons for changing his name are headcanon. His brief friendship with RĂŽg is headcanon. Everything about SilindĂ« Maidros is headcanon; see her edit for more details. The word parts making up his new name are canon, though. Maedhros taking ex-thralls into his ranks is fanon/headcanon. His brothers not staying with him is canon. Maedhros did attend the Mereth Aderthad in canon, though we donât have any details beyond that. We donât know exactly how Maedhros came to know AzaghĂąl, so Curufin and Caranthir introducing them is headcanon, but it is canon that he saved Azâs life on the Dwarf-road. The gift of the Dragon-helm is canon, and the gift of the Green Stone of FĂ«anor is canon to the draft that story appears him, though Celebrimborâs involvement is borrowed from an entirely different version of the Elessarâs history. Maedhros and Fingon absolutely had kids and I love them (that is headcanon though, sigh); in this case Iâm going with Gil-galad son of Fingon (who I will remind you is trans in my headcanon), and Iâm retaining Erien as a daughter of Fingon (though I adapt her brother Finbor into being just another name for Gil-galad). Maedhros being involved in their upbringing is headcanon. The events of the Dagor Bragollach are canon. Maedhros attending Fingonâs coronation is headcanon. Fingon sending his son to the Falas after the Bragollach is canon; that CĂrdan in particular cared for him is fanon; that Lalwen was involved with CĂrdan and therefore the raising of Fingonâs son (and daughter, in this case) is also fanon. PegmĂ»l and Kulren are Ulfang and BĂłr respectively; read their own edits to find out more about those names and my headcanons around them. Beren and LĂșthienâs story is canon, though very much condensed. The formation of the Union of Maedhros is canon. The contributions from the dwarves of Nogrod and the Green-elves of Ossiriand are headcanon. Maedhros making a move with his Union too early is canon. Telchar of Nogrod did canonically make both the Dragon-helm and Narsil, but Maedhros owning Narsil is headcanon (and will show up again later). Narsil being named NarĂŸil with a ĂŸorn is a headcanon born from the FĂ«anorian origins I gave it :) Orodrethâs one (1) company and Thingolâs two (2) marchwardens coming to the NĂrnaeth are canon. The stuff about Fingon and Turgon before the battle is canon. Maedhrosâ host being betrayed by Uldor and being attacked by Glaurung is canon. Maedhros feeling Fingon die and going mad trying to reach him is headcanon; it is, however, canon that he never saw Fingonâs dead body... The FĂ«anorians did canonically live a âwild and woodland lifeâ in Ossiriand after the NĂrnaeth; they also canonically dwelt in Amon Ereb after the NĂrnaeth, and we donât have any details on when that change happened, so I made some up. Erestorâs involvement is headcanon; read his edit for more info. The extent of Maedhrosâ personality change is headcanon but supported by the text. The specifics of who killed who at Doriath are headcanon. Youâll find out more about my ElurĂ©d and ElurĂn headcanons later. Maedhros did canonically search for them, though, and just as canonically couldnât find them. Canon states that before the attack on Sirion, the FĂ«anorians âgather[ed] from their wandering hunting-pathsâ which to me implies that Amrod and Amras, at least, had retreated into the wild while Maedhros held Amon Ereb âafter the great defeatâ (aka the NĂrnaeth). The details of Maglor and Maedhros being awful to each other are headcanon. Maedhros forswearing the Oath for a time is canon; A&Aâs transformation into Oath-haunted shells of their former selves being what pushes him into attacking Sirion is headcanon. Amrod and Amras being just completely horrifically violent at Sirion is canon to at least one draft. We donât know the detailâs of Elwingâs plummet into the ocean, but she did jump into the sea with the Silmaril. The details of how Maglor found Elrond and Elros are headcanon, as are the details of their adoption, but it is canon that he cared for them. Maedhrosâ involvement in their care is taken from earlier drafts where it was him, not Maglor, who cared for Elrond (but not Elros, who didnât exist yet). Youâll get more on the kidnap fam later. Elrond having the Elessar as a child is headcanon. Gil-Estelâs rising and everyoneâs reactions to that are canon, though Iâve embellished that some. Maedhrosâ participating in the War of Wrath is all headcanon. We donât know for sure if Elrond and Elros joined up with Gil-galad in the War, but we do know that Elrond was present to see Thangorodrim destroyed (thatâs LotR canon!). Everything about Maedhrosâ relationship with his bio kids is headcanon. Maedhros and Maglorâs argument about surrendering is canon, though condensed in some places and embellished in others. Their final assault on the guards is canon, as is them agreeing to each take on Silmaril, and Maedhrosâ final act of casting himself into the gaping chasm filled with fire. We donât know if Maglor actually witnessed Maedhrosâ suicide, but the rest of his fate is canon, though him lamenting most for Maedhros is headcanon. Whew. Thanks for sticking with me through this very long rant about my favorite character!!
Maglor ft. Maglor, EzellĂ« (OC), Daeron, Gwereneth LindamĂriel (OC) Iâm giving up on trying to make these short. Oops. Same thing as last time, here we go. As mentioned in FĂ«anorâs edit, the story about the name KĂĄnafinwĂ« is headcanon. Everything with Findis and ElemmĂrĂ« is headcanon. We do know Maglor is like, the best singer ever except maybe Daeron, but the journey of how he got there is headcanon. Maglor is canonically married, but everything about his wife is my headcanon. The Oath paragraph is from the Silm with a few tweaks. Maglorâs specific deeds in the First Kinslaying are headcanon. Maglor did compose the NoldolantĂ«, and I *think* he began writing it after AlqualondĂ«, but Iâm not 100% sure on that. We can infer Maglor did participate in the ship-burning. Everything about him helping Amrod recover is headcanon. The details of his time as king-regent are headcanon, as are the details about Maedhrosâ return. I donât think we actually know if Maglor *was* the one in charge in Maedhrosâ absence, but it makes sense logically... The details about Maglorâs Gap are mostly canon. Maglor did canonically attend the Mereth Aderthad, as did Daeron, but everything about their relationship is headcanon. Arasdil is my OC and everything about her and her family is headcanon. The Gap did fall when Glaurung assaulted it, but I donât think we have many details beyond that. CĂșlalmion is an OC and everything about him is headcanon. Maglorâs relationship with Kulnab (aka Borlach) is completely headcanon. Maglor did canonically kill Uldor. Thereâs nothing new here about the Second and Third Kinslayings; check out Maedhrosâ edit for notes on that. There will be a specific kidnap fam edit, stay tuned for that ;) I went over the War of Wrath and the fate of Maedhros and Maglor in a previous edit. Literally everything Maglor does after throwing his Silmaril into the sea is headcanon, which encompasses the rest of the edit! I hope you like my OC Gwereneth LindamĂriel; this is her public debut!!
Kidnap Dads ft. Maedhros, Maglor, Elrond, Elros This is a LOT of headcanon, given that most of what we know from canon is just the âlove grew after between themâ line! This story about the Elessar is entirely my own invention. The Kinslaying at Sirion is canon, but most of the details here are headcanon. Everything about the progression of their Kidnap Fam relationship is headcanon, as is Erestorâs involvement; I do think that the most reasonable time for a formal adoption would be after Gil-Estelâs rising, since it would mean that Elwing and EĂ€rendil really arenât coming back. The names ElenyafinwĂ«, AĂŸelairĂ«, and AlmatĂĄru are all inventions of @jaz-the-bard, and are used with permission!! The FĂ«anorian involvement in the War of Wrath is headcanon. Elrond and Elros being sent to Belegost for awhile is a headcanon, though not originally mine; I think @grundyscribbling introduced me to it? Elrond and Elros being sent to Gil-galad is fanon, though we do know that Elrond was present at the destruction of Thangorodrim and that he became Gilâs herald, so itâs plausible. Maedhros giving Narsil to Elros is fanon and I LOVE the idea <3 In one draft Elrond does have a silver harp, so I thought it would be poetic to have that be a gift from Maglor. Everything about Elrond and Elrosâ participation in the War of Wrath is headcanon, including their meeting with Elwing and EĂ€rendil. I went for the angstiest version of their Choice and M&Mâs final assault that I could :)))) Canon says that Maglor never again came among the elves, but there is an older draft where he settles down with Elrond, and anyway Iâm not gonna listen to Tolkien when I can give my favs a sort of happy ending!!! See Maglorâs edit for more info on him and Elrond in later Ages.
Caranthir ft. Caranthir, Haleth, RĂœndil (OC) The details about Caranthirâs life in Valinor are all headcanon, as is much of his motivation for his actions in Beleriand. He did speak against Angrod and Thingol at the council; he did settle in Thargelion and strike up trade with the dwarves; he did rescue the Haladin from orcs. Everything about his relationship with Haleth after that battle and her refusal of his offer is headcanon. My Halenthir are aro4aro and have a non-romantic sexual relationship that accidentally results in a child: my beloved OC, RĂœndil <3 Naturally, everything with RĂœndil is headcanon. Caranthir did lose his lands in the Dagor Bragollach and moved in with A&A at Amon Ereb; he was the one who allied with Ulfang (PegmĂ»l). We donât hear about him again until his death at the Second Kinslaying, and we only know that he died there, not the details of how. Everything after his death concerns RĂœndil primarily and is thus made up to fill in the gaps present in canon. This is NOT my only version of RĂœndilâs story! In fact, my âmainâ version (depicted in my WIP Cause and Consequence) has them leaving the FĂ«anorians after the NĂrnaeth and dying at the Third Kinslaying. But that version also has them dating ArafinwĂ«an Gil-galad, which is not compatible with the âverse Iâm writing for these edits, so I gave them another storyline here...one that still ends with their uncle(s) murdering them, though, RIP. This is also the only version where RĂœndil chooses to be an elf; in all other versions of their story, they are more connected with their mortal heritage, and choose the mortal path instead. But I had a lot of fun concocting this alternate story for them, and Iâm sure Iâll return to it in the future!
Celegorm and Curufin ft. Celegorm, Curufin, QuildalĂłtiĂ« (OC), Celebrimbor A lot of this is canon that has been embellished with headcanon. Most of Celegormâs childhood is extrapolated from canon details, though the exact timeline of events is my headcanon. The conflict between FĂ«anor and Celegorm over Celegormâs loyalties to OromĂ« is headcanon. It is canon that OromĂ« would hunt monsters in Middle-earth, but we donât have anything about Celegorm going with him; thatâs my headcanon. The nature of Celegorm and Aredhelâs relationship is headcanon; I see them as aromantic friends with benefits. We know pretty much nothing about Curufinâs life in Valinor, BUT the only piece of writing we have on Curufinâs wife says that she did not follow him into exile, so I have her staying in Valinor during the Flight of the Noldor. This also necessitates Celebrimbor being born in Aman; his exact age and the reason he went with his father is my headcanon. We donât know when Celegorm and Huan became friends, thatâs my headcanon. Most of the stuff between Formenos and FĂ«anorâs death is canon that has been heavily embellished. I went over the stuff about Maglorâs kingship in previous edits. SinwatiĂ« is an OC whomst I adore; she appeared in an earlier edit. Curufin and Eöl knowing each other pre-Aredhel is a headcanon. Angrist was canonically made by Telchar, but we donât know anything else about Curufin and Telcharâs relationship. C&Câs reaction to Aredhelâs marriage is inspired by some stuff in an earlier draft (I donât remember exactly which one atm). I tried to show C&Câs actions in Nargothrond in an understandable light but also they were fucking awful so itâs still pretty negative. I love the idea that Celegormâs treatment of LĂșthien was some kind of misplaced vengeance for Eölâs treatment of Aredhel, but everything around that is headcanon. All the interactions between LĂșthien, Beren, Celegorm, and Curufin are canon. I refuse to believe that Maedhros was anything other than furious at C&C for their deeds in Nargothrond, especially when heâs trying to build an alliance that they personally royally fucked up. I also refuse to believe that Curufin was a terrible father (though heâs certainly not perfect either) and I donât personally subscribe to Celebrimbor-in-Gondolin, so I have him escaping the Fall of Nargothrond instead. The details of how the Second Kinslaying went down are mostly headcanon. This one ends on a pretty depressing note, but Iâll circle back around to the FĂ«anorians eventually, I promise.
Celebrimbor ft. Celebrimbor, Narvi, Thyra (OC), Annatar Celebrimborâs father-name also being CurufinwĂ« is fanon that I have adopted because I love it. The meaning behind his mother-name is my headcanon. His age at the time of the Darkening (and other early events) is my headcanon. Everything Celebrimbor does before repudiating his father in Nargothrond is headcanon. As mentioned above, I donât subscribe to Celebrimbor-in-Gondolin, so instead I have him escaping the Fall of Nargothrond because I refuse to believe there were NO survivors of that event. (Queen Amathluin is my OC for Orodrethâs wife/Finduilasâ mother.) I do like Celebrimbor forging the/an Elessar, though, so I threw that in there. I *think* Curufin (and Celebrimbor?) learning Khuzdul is canon to at least one draft but Iâm not positive. I have Celebrimbor being the one to reforge Gurthang because the text mentions the âcunning smiths of Nargothrondâ which, câmon, thatâs GOT to be TyelpĂ« son of Curufin the CRAFTY! Everything between repudiating his family and founding Eregion is headcanon, though. Drafts differ on whether TyelpĂ« or Galadriel and Celeborn founded Eregion and Ost-in-Edhil, so I just have them all be involved. The stuff about the Gwaith-i-MĂrdainâs friendship with the dwarves is canon, as are all the details about the Doors of Durin. Narvi and Celebrimborâs qpps-with-benefits relationship is entirely my headcanon; Thyra is my beloved dwelf OC :) The bare-bones details of Annatarâs arrival are headcanon, but I fleshed that out with a lot of headcanon. My Celebrimbor is gray aro, and he only Fell In Love once, with Annatar (RIP), though he was very close to Narvi as well. Thyra sees this as a betrayal of her mother (who died of natural causes not long before Annatar showed up. TyelpĂ« is definitely still grieving her...) Naturally everything with Thyra is made up. The Longbeard dwarves claim that Celebrimbor personally gave Durin III their Ring of Power, though this is not universally agreed upon in-universe; I like the idea, and I also have him give two more rings to other nearby(ish) dwarf kings at the same time heâs handing out the elf rings. Celebrimborâs capture, torture, and death are pretty much entirely canon. Of course, I have to give Celebrimbor a second chance at life, but I donât think heâs reembodied until after Sauron is completely defeated, so heâs not getting out of Mandos until the Fourth Ageâbut meanwhile he can pop over to dwarf heaven to visit Narvi and Thyra :)
Ambarussa ft. Amras, Amrod, Thennes (OC), TinĂșloth (ElurĂ©d), TinĂșdil (ElurĂn), DĂriel (OC), Collas (OC), Nelloril (OC), Merilon (OC) The differences between the twins are mostly my headcanon, as is Amrodâs friendship/dalliance with Egalmoth (AikamblotsĂ«) and his discovery of his aroace identity. The timing of FĂ«anor and Nerdanelâs argument over their mother-names is my headcanon, but the incident itself is taken from canon. We donât know if the twins wanted to join OromĂ«âs hunt, just that they were also hunters like Celegorm. Nerdanel did ask FĂ«anor to leave her the twins, or at least one of them, but he refused; I headcanon that they didnât really want to stay either, and Amrodâs later desire to go back was a change of heart and not something he felt all along. I mix the two canons of Amrod burning and Amrod surviving at Losgar to make a Lightly Toasted Amrod story! :) The details of how he survived and his healing process are entirely my headcanon. I do think that the twins, especially Amrod, were extremely disillusioned with FĂ«anor and the Oath much earlier than the rest of their brothers, but they were still bound to their word. Iâm pretty sure itâs canon that the Ambarussar befriended the Laiquendi/Laegrim, but I donât know if it was said that any of them actually entered into their service? That might be my headcanon. Everything about Thennes and infiltrating Doriath is purely my headcanon. Thennes is my beloved OC :) Caranthir fleeing to the twins after the Bragollach is canon, as is the FĂ«anorians retreating to Ossiriand after the NĂrnaeth, though we donât know how much the twins were involved in leading them at that time. Amras and Thennesâ involvement in the cover-up of ElurĂ©d and ElurĂnâs escape is purely headcanon, but itâs one of my favorite headcanon concepts :D Collas and DĂrielâs existence was a later addition to this headcanon, but I wanted a way for Tauriel to be descended from a FĂ«anorian, and thus Collas was bornâDĂriel came even later, when I was considering FinwĂ«an lady OCs and realized I could easily reincorporate the name âDĂrielâ (one of Amrasâ old names in early drafts) as Amrasâ kid! I developed her story more when I was fleshing out what ElurĂ©d and ElurĂn / TinĂșloth and TinĂșdil did in later Ages. Once again I must emphasize this is all VERY much just headcanon, lol. Amrod and Amras becoming super mean to each other after the Second Kinslaying is a headcanon, but I think one that makes sense; the text of the Silm does imply that the FĂ«anorians drifted apart at that time, so I have A&A go one way and M&M the other, until itâs time for Kinslaying #3. Amrod and Amrasâ especial brutality at Sirion is taken from an early draft. The exact manner of their deaths is my headcanon (and my Galadriel does not go âover the mountainsâ so yes, sheâs still hanging out with the Doriathrim at this time). And once again, the ending of Thennes and DĂrielâs story (and the beginning of Taurielâs!) is all headcanon.
Indis ft. FinwĂ«, Indis, Findis, ĂolofinwĂ«, LalwendĂ«, ArafinwĂ« Most of Indisâ story has been covered in other edits. Her friendship with MĂriel is fanon. Indisâ names Vanima and LarcatĂĄliĂ« are headcanon. The circumstances of her meeting with FinwĂ« are canon, but have been embellished to include FinwĂ«âs thoughts about MĂrielâs approval. The birth order of Indisâ children is canonical, but much of the interpersonal situations around their births is headcanon. I wrote a fic about FinwĂ« naming all his sons after himself and FĂ«anorâs feelings about that! Everything about the unrest of the Noldor and the Darkening is pretty much canon. FinwĂ« remaining in Mandos and MĂriel returning to life is canon to at least one draft. Indis and MĂriel reuniting and living as wives is headcanon.
Findis ft. Findis, ElemmĂrĂ«, Laurefindil, Ehtelion, Faniel, Indilzar (OC) This is mostly headcanon. Basically everything we know about Findis is her place as Indisâ eldest child and that she remained with her mother in Valinor; I made up pretty much everything else. The ElemmĂrĂ« and Maglor stuff was covered in previous edits, as was most of Glorfindelâs story, though the bits between his first and second adventures in Middle-earth are new. Faniel was a discarded name for a daughter of FinwĂ« that Iâve repurposed into a daughter of Findis! Her whole deal with marrying a NĂșmenĂłrean is entirely made up, but boy did I have a lot of fun with that. Indilzar was a discarded AdĂ»naic name for Elros that Iâve repurposed as a name for my OC for Fanielâs spouse! They are nonbinary :)
Lalwen ft. Lalwen, CĂrdan, Ilverion, VoronwĂ« ...well, I am back after. 3 years. Iâve made some changes to the way Iâm doing this series; Iâm going to start off by writing a narrative about these characters, and then if/when it gets too long, Iâll switch to more succinct (but still very detailed, lol) bullet points under a cut. Regarding Lalwen & co: Everything we know about Lalwen is her name, her position in the age order of FinwĂ«âs children, that she went into exile with Fingolfin, who was âmost dear to her of all her kin.â Everything else here is complete headcanon. CĂrdan will get another edit later on, but itâs safe to say everything about his relationship with Lalwen is made up. Ilverion as their kid is likewise completely fabricated by me (mostly as a way to give VoronwĂ«, who I headcanon as aroace, a way to still be a father). VoronwĂ« is some sort of relative to CĂrdan through his mother, but we donât know the specifics; his mother Hithaer is an OC. Models: Sharon Alexie as Lalwen; Ron Jack Foley as CĂrdan (not exactly as I picture him but as close as I can get); Princess Nokia as Ilverion (idk why lol); and Ilka Bruhl as VoronwĂ« (again, I donât know why, but Iâm quite attached to this faceclaim)
Hopefully the next edits will be up soon-ish? But um. No promises.
