#enviroment study

Hi! i'm Val. 25yo. Argentina 🇦🇷, my native language is Spanish (i'm learning English).

this is gonna be my blog as a student at UNS. I'm studying for a technical degree in environmental studies, and soon I'll be getting a bachelor's degree in environmental science.

I'm finding my place in this world after dealing with years of mental health issues and family trauma. I'm very curious and i love learning new things. I'm interested in various fields of knowledge, and if I had the time, I would learn about everything that exists just for the sake of knowing. I have a 10yo cat named Félix aka "el purri". 🐱 he's an orange boy.

Old New

After a small talk with my tutor today, I realised that the concept design scale illusion was ruined with the mismatched scale between the grass and building, making the skyscraper look and feel tiny.

To fix this I decided to make everything more or less to scale to real life, the landscape was stretched to 300 meters by 300 meters and the buildings are now 10 meters by 10 meters, more or less the size I'll be going for in my final product, likely somewhat bigger. Though even undersized, the illusion now works much better, the towers look and feel giant. With the lighting angle, the shadows also support the huge scale of the ground, the width almost covering the distance between the closest tower and the player. The hight so big it covers a couple hundred meters of ground in shadow.

I've also added texture to the sky and sand as well as a tornado in the distance, still not quite finished, I'd like to add a dusty overlay of sand over the image as well as some 2D detail to the towers, but aside from that, I'm very happy with the image.
