Still sick, watched another film(!) (I've seen more films this weekend than I have in six months). This time White Snake (2019), another Chinese animation. This one's for adults tho, there's even a fade-to-black sex scene.
Uh ngl I may have enjoyed this one more than Ne Zha 2 ><;;; Despite it receiving really harsh reviews, I was happy to be carried along with the fairy tale. There wasn't any stupid humour to cringe through. And I have a Huge Thing for sexy snakes so like. Guys. I was eating at a feast. So many sneeple!!
And yeah... Xuan's a boring love interest... except that he reminded me of my partner! That selfless kindness that is 'unrealistically inhuman' according to one reviewer? Yeah I kept thinking, oh, he's acting just like my partner would...down to the impetuous choices that don't necessarily make anything better...
I didn't even mind the talking dog. It takes SO MUCH for me to not hate a talking animal sidekick. I LIKED the dog. Dudou was a whole vibe tbh
But Xuan aside I'm shipping those snake sisters. (I'm not sure if they're related tbh). Verta's devotion was perf. Giiiiirls it's fine ignore the guy and make out please.
So I guess I'm a bit broken in the head, or else there's something in Light Chaser Animation's studio that's catnip for me specifically. I mean... What can I say? Big Snake Hot!
