they reconnected after years of radio silence (since school) when they saw each other in a shop in atlantis
elwin was getting a present for his great nephews wedding, and forkle was getting something for julines moms shower party
yeah, so from then on they started talking, and wow, turns out this guy i healed like 5 times every month in school is now a pretty well adjusted dude
inevitably, forkle catches feelings
they go on a bunch of dates, and tbh, theyre kinda goals until the black swan comes along
as much as elwin is in favor of what they are doing, he just cant accept the idea that an innocent person is going to have the task of being the enw messiah pit onti them
that innevitably leads to a break up.
when sophie gets to the lost cities, they have stopped talking entirely

he hasnt talked with erol in centuries, but he was still kinda close with leto
after erol dies, they only have eachother, but elwin pulls away, as he could always recognize erol and leto under their disguises and its just too much to see the face of the person hes loved for centuries and *lost* everyday
he doesnt talk to any forkle now

even though he was the one to break it off, elwin still pines for erol
and leto knows for a fact erol is pining for elwin as well
he locks thel in a closet and tells them to talk
because even thoigh, yes, whet theyd done was fucked up, he could still see that both of them were tons happier when they had been together
and he wouldbt stand for his brother and best friend unhappy
they talk stuff out, and elwin isnt sure if he can forgive erol yet, but he agrees to try
