They love doing that - in our flower pots too. :) We only have red ones, they are so cute.
i leave them where they are all winter, knowing they may be looking for them, but they only dig them up in the Spring! must be plenty of food around here, or they really do forget where they left them! and i could round up some of the others to send to you, we have plenty. 😉

Lol we have two troublesome squirrels as well... My mom named them Ramsay and Theon ��
perfect names for them! and only two? there’s 5 in the backyard right now! i’ll ship some to you too 😂 fun fact: it used to be a requirement in my state to turn in a quota of squirrel pelts along with your taxes! 😳
