15: when they watch a film what do they choose and why? Who gets the final vote?

i feel like i don’t know enough about Film as a concept to answer this properly i’m so sorry. we know ianto loves james bond, but jack definitely loves period dramas. also ianto gets the last say because of course he does.

19: where do they go on their first date?

i feel like jack would’ve really Done The Most, taken ianto to a nice restaurant and pulled out his chair and generally been absolutely charming, doing his best to make up for leaving and show ianto that this is real, that jack really does care about him and he’s so so sorry, please trust me again.

29: why do they fall just a little bit more in love?

hhhhh oh my god. okay. jack loves ianto for all kinds of reasons, but i think one of the most important is that jack sees him for who he really is, and loves him anyway. he doesn’t idolise jack, doesn’t see him as a hero, he knows the fucked up stuff jack has done, and he understands and loves jack as he is, which i strongly suspect was a bit of a first for jack. gwen loves him, but we know she idealises the hell out of him and what he represents to her. the doctor (ten in particular) knew who jack truly was, and rejected him (although i don’t think he’s an irredeemable dick for it, but that’s another post). ianto understands the reality of loving jack, and does it without question anyway.

ianto loves jack for his strength. he’s kind of a hero, but not quite, because he understands that sometimes you do have to do really awful things. sometimes you have to make compromises that no-one should ever have to make (hiding a cyberman in the basement. sacrificing a child to save the world), and you can still be a good person. jack shoulders such a heavy burdern, and ianto knows this, knows the true depth of how brave and selfless is, but also knows that jack doesn’t do these things for the sake of being a hero. he’s in a situation no other person is in, he’s confused and lost and terrified, and he still loves so fiercely, is still so warm and caring.

They Keep Killing Suzie, Fragments, and Reset. if i have to choose an order, the first two are tied for first, and the latter is my second fave :D

oh man, i can’t think of specifics right now, and i probably have missed so much since i’m so new to this fandom, but literally every single con panel i’ve seen. anything with john barrowman being john barrowman. plus GDL’s coffee rap.

21. stories you’d like to see in the future?

1. i’m ignorant about many big finish eps because i’m still making my way through them, so i’m sure they’ve already done this, but any story with more tosh backstory/background.

2. more janto stories, of course. i’ll never get tired of them. i’m pumped for serenity but if i ever got non-”pretend” domestic (as in them hanging at ianto’s apartment or something, not forced because of plot to be domestic) in any form i’d die of happy. all the fic tropes they haven’t already done, basically.

3. more of jack with torchwood three before we knew it, or even more of him with torchwood way back in the past. also, this doesn’t really count as torchwood, but i could watch infinite jack spinoffs with different tones set during different times in his very long life.

4. ok, i’m cheating and doing a fourth. the discord came up with a pre-touchwood one, communist punk ianto jones headcanon and i. love. it. stories about young ianto, right before torchwood one, is something i need.
