Enat Ethiopian Restaurant - seattle Before I say anything else, I want to say that the only reason my review is not two stars is because of this one dancer they had here during they belly dance shows. Even though belly dance isn’t really traditional Ethiopian, watching Mariam Dance made me feel like I was transported from Enat into some Arabic palace where I was watching a dramatic and professional performance. What a find! Location wise it was easy to find and had plenty of free parking surrounding it. From the outside it looked a little bit like a shack. Nothing fancy and kind of run down looking actually. We are brave eaters, but the appearance definitely doesn’t say “eat here”. The interior was consistent. It looked like the floors were new but the remainder needed some work. The worst was the bathroom. It looked like a gas station bathroom, instead of one at a restaurant. It took us a long time to be seated, I had to approach someone. It took us a really long time to order and get our food. I also had to remind the waitress a few times what we ordered. It also took us a really long tine to get our checks. My water was never refilled and I had to keep chasing down the waitress. The menu was short, traditional and priced really well. It covered the expected Ethiopian favorites. You get a great amount of food for the price you pay. The food tasted great. I’d love to try more of the menu here actually. The only part of the food that was disappointing was the baklava. It was not made in house and wasn’t prepared traditionally. It bothered me that there was a belly dance show inside but no signs outside for it. So you have no idea there is a show and you almost get tricked into walking in and being charged a cover fee (in cash only might I add) for a show you didn’t even know you were agreeing to watch. But I paid it, I’m curious. Honestly, with the exception of that one dancer Mariam, I wouldn’t watch it if it was free. Most of the dancers, except the guest and featured dancer, where monstrous. Some were obese, or really old, or saggy...but the worst part was that they couldn’t dance or act. Definitely was a bizarre experience for me...
