I always remember the case of Feven (also refered as Heaven) Awot, a 7 year old little girl brutally SA'ed by a supposedly "trustworthy" man and then mutilated. He then proceeded to bathe her body in bleach to wash off any genetic evidence and DNA.
But was later arrested and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Many think the punishment was too lenient. I do as well and so does her mother who has been getting witch hunted and harassed by her daughter's murderer's defenders.
She's one of the millions of women in Ethiopia that have suffered, tortured in inhumane ways and ultimately had their lives taken away unfairly but never got any justice and the voices of their families were shut down.
I hope this helps spread awareness about the situation I'm getting tired of seeing the constant abuse of women and little girls in my own homecountry. We are not your slaves we are people with our own thoughts and ambitions!
