Once you and the group got all the gas to the generator to lower the bridge you guys wished the other group well and sped off

While the sun set everyone else was probably asleep. As You turnt your head to check you were correct as coach was slumped back behind the driver, nick leaning on coach, and Rochelle asleep against the window which left only you and Ellis… I mean you don’t know what to say you can’t even sleep and it felt awkward because you don’t even know how to position your body! Only look out the window and think of what you could say

But before you could even brainstorm Ellis spoke up “hey you awake” turning your head “yeah what’s up” “I have something to confess—god it’s so stupid though” with those few words you were locked in on what he was gonna tell you as your focus grew more sharp “go on….” 

As he took a sharp inhale quickly saying “Ikindalikeyoubutidontthinkyoudfeelthesameaboutme…” in one breath “repeat that again Ellis cause I don’t know shit you’re saying?” You said sounding more harsh than you wanted to

“Damn it.. man just forget it” he replied quickly as he tapped on the wheel “no Ellis you brought it up? And if you’re talking about what I think you are I already knew.” That made him stop his tapping on the wheel as he stiffened up only whispering “you..you knew? How?” 

“Well first maybe it’s all the random pet names and lastly Coach didn’t do a great job at keeping whatever you told him on lock“ that’s when he let out a sigh “fuck I’m sorry you found out this way.. and I understand if you don’t have a mutual feeling” he trailed off as his voice got lower
