📖✨ The story was told in alternating chapters from the perspectives of Princess Rhee and Bebe boii, Alyosha 😁 (Loooove his chapters!) I was looking forward for the moment when they'll finally meet and the two pictures would finally come together! Unfortunately, that won't happen in this book. Don't feel bad that I'm spoiling it to you - believe me, I'm saving you from disappointment. I didn't know that it's a duology! There's a huge cliffhanger that I didn't like. That smile I had upon the beginning of this novel has turned upside down when I was at the last part 💔 After scribbling this, a shower, and a Zoom meeting, I'm literally gonna start the sequel! 🙏 pls pls be goood!!! I really hope that the sequel would be satisfying 🙏💕 P.S. 📖✨ The synopsis looked promising, and I was so intrigued and thrilled to be in Rhee's world! I love the first chapter - that moment in the marketplace when she was trying to escape her guards. I could just imagine the diversity in the place and how magical their skies would be - that purple sunset! I got confused with the cube at first though. I thought that it's a literal pod and that the marketplace was just a virtual world online 😅 then I figured that they're actually online while living in the real world. It made me remember a Black Mirror episode called "The History of Us" (Ugh! That one was heart shattering! 🥺) Anyway, you could record/replay memories through your cube plus it automatically translates languages around you so when Rhee had turned it off, she suddenly heard all of the different languages spoken by the crowd. It's a fascinating technology 🌚 and I think I'll never forget that reading moment 💘 As Rhee went on her quest though, a lot of twists and turns had happen. Some are really good, but the others are kinda cringy - a little cliche. However, I like that from having a personal agenda in mind, Rhee's intentions had gradually developed as she got to experience how it was to be the lowest of the lows - she started seeing the reality and I hope that she'd show a little more care for her people in the sequel. 😂 I find her still kinda childish. Now that I think about it, the guiding principles that she was living by were gotten way back from her childhood organic memories.
