INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2018
International women’s day means nothing if we don’t support and fight for ALL women - the trans women, the women of colour, the disabled women, the queer women, the migrant women and the working class women. Those who are most disenfranchised continue to be the worst effected. These women need to stop being silenced, and need representation and we need to learn from our difference, not speak for others and not let these differences divide us.
Here’s some work I did a while ago - it’s embroidery on top of photography with some glitter and some embossing and burn marks with a heat gun to represent how harmful gender roles and beauty standards can really be.
