Hi! Just wanted to say that I'm so grateful for all your Arslan Senki novel spoilers!! I've recently barrelled through the translated manga chapters but I wanted to know if I should bother following up on future chapters and it wasn't easy to find comprehensive answers about how the whole novel series ultimately ended. Was so glad to find your posts! (Going to run out of allowed Ask character count so gonna split this message into two...)
...I hate spending a lot of time on a story only to be annoyed/disappointed by its ending. Now I'm just going to wait and see where Arakawa takes it before deciding if I want to continue reading. Because, well, I think Narsus is amazing, Daryun is super humble, Farangis is cool as heck, and Arslan is a dear. Not so keen on Alfarid so the spoilers about her made me go -_- Anyway! Thank you again because I got every answer I could have wanted on your Tumblr! <3
Hi there, I’m glad I could help you out a bit with my past AS posts!
I’m pretty sure Arakawa’s manga adaption will only cover the story of the FIRST part of the novel series, and as long as the manga follows the FIRST part, it’s all good (story-wise & ending-wise). So I believe the manga is safe in that sense and I personally recommend reading it :)
Anyway, as someone who read the whole novel series including the overall messy second part and the legendarily horrendous final book (book 16), I’d just say: “Forget the second part (book 8-16), it never existed to begin with. The real Arslan Senki concludes with book 7 - with Arslan taking back the capital and becoming King of Pars. Period.″.

Some of my fave HitsuHina fics:
-Twelve by JoanyChan (actually all her HitsuHina fics are gold!)-The Dating Game (Has IchiRuki as the other major ship)-Momo: Action Hero or Cat Burglar-Observations by 20 Thousand Leagues (crack, more on Hitsugaya and Hyourinmaru’s relationship but alludes to HitsuHina, also way funny)-Therapy for Shinigami (same as above, HitsuHina is not the main focus but they have chapters focused on each character that alludes to it, also really funny)-Obvious by SkItZoFrEaK -The HitsuHina Alphabet by red-strawberrii- A Series of Firsts (my favorite Momo Hinamori character fic ever, admittedly focuses more on the AiHina relationship, but realistically, in that you see how Momo painfully and slowly comes to grip with the reality of her beloved captain. All the same her relationship with Toushirou is subtly highlighted, and you can see in the chapter focused on him how he is the most pivotal person in Momo’s life.)I don’t read that much Harmony fics though, but my favorite (though incomplete) is:- Unlike a SisterI’ve also read good things about- Vox CorporisHope this helped! I thought it looked promising! But I'm cautiously optimistic... Live-action adaptations of something like One Piece can go wrong veeery easily.
That’s very similar to how I feel! You can tell the cast and crew have a love for the source material which is always really important when taking on adaptations like this, and the appeal of One Piece for me has always been more about worldbuilding and story/character development (as opposed to fights or cool effects) and those are aspects that can easily cross over to a live action setting.
So I think as long as those characters and stories can come through and the environment and acting can support that, it’s got a good chance of being successful (and I already know a few people who are willing to give this a chance that have been hesitant because of either the length or the style of the original manga/anime, so if it opens the series up to a new audience that’s encouraging as well!)

I know it has to do with how cooking is written in katakana and probably not, as some people are theorizing, foreshadowing for Sanji getting Conqueror’s Haki but I still feel like at some point during the process somebody should have realized that book in fact said ‘cocking’ (though I’m kind of amused they didn’t)
