My Fair Raggy
Scooby Doo goes to speech therapy while the gang investigates the ghost of a flower seller haunting Covent Garden. It turns out the ghost is Scooby's speech therapist, who is also a crooked real estate developer, and whose grandson will go on to be Doctor Dolittle.
The art of public speaking goes beyond the mastery of the voice and includes the addition of expressive gestures to punctuate the speaker’s points. These illustrations, taken from a mid-nineteenth century manual, demonstrate the correct movement of a speaker’s arms. Although the author states that the arms are “little more than an agent for moving the hand,” he goes into great detail concerning proper, smooth movement. Rather than describing the phenomenon, it is presented using a universal coordinate system that is supplemented with illustrated examples.
