Seokjin wasn’t usually one to be out and about during crowds and peak periods but he couldn’t avoid it. He was on a mission and couldn’t be deterred. His sister, Yena, had been eliminated from the mgas in the last episode and, despite her reassurance she was fine, Jin felt like he should buy her something to cheer her up. That’s how he ended up in Hongdae during the weekend when everyone was out and about.

sometimes, life is just about making up your own fun.  little challenges that can’t possibly be achieved that are only destined for failure just to have a good laugh about it in the end - these are things that jei somehow enjoys.  her expression may say otherwise, but she likes the competitive feel of it, even if everyone is doomed for failure from the start.

like, shopping with elly and putting a limit on their spending.  especially when they’re both in serious need of some retail therapy.  jei has a lot on her mind, though she doubts it’s half as much as elly does - the girl looks horrible.  

but after just a few stores, with her hands full of shopping bags she lets out a sigh.  “ well, we came close.” she says, in reference to their little challenge made and lost.  “ should we keep going now that we’ve failed anyway, or do you want to go grab some dinner?”

it’s not as though the both of them have been away from each other for long. if anything, they’ve both been busy with their own respective things. still, it’s been a while since jaehyun’s last spoken to elly –– and he hasn’t exactly asked her about the royal survivals.

he thinks it’s a shame, really, that someone as talented as elly didn’t make it through to the group. and jaehyun’s no ceo of an entertainment company but he doesn’t quite get why she hadn’t either. it’s been a few months since the royal survival though, and a few months since he’s actually had a proper conversation with her.

so, in his own way to belatedly cheer her up as well as a ‘thank you for an amazing 2017′, he’d cooked up something for elly. usually, elly would’ve been the one to give jaehyun an amazing bento. but this time, he’d wanted to try something new.

they’ve been listening to the same song for what feels like hours, when in reality, both rose and elly have been eyeing off a choreography video for the past twenty minutes. pausing to discuss certain points throughout the dance. rose was glad she had found someone to make her dream of dancing to this song come true, and of course, elly was that person. she’d grown to respect elly a lot more than she already did, due to royal survival, among other things. rose looked up to her, almost as though she was a sisterly figure. 

the video finishes for the nth time and rose hits pause before it can replay again. “i really don’t wanna hate the song.” rose chuckles, running a hand through her hair. “we’ve listened to it so much already.” she mutters, pouting, falling back onto the hard wooden floor of a vacant studio the two of them have booked out, specifically for learning this dance.

it wasn’t something big, she tried to not go overboard with it, and while scrolling online in thought of what to do, she landed on the idea of doing a hot-chocolate mix in a jar. so that was what she did most of the afternoon’s when she went back home, making sure that things were nice and neat, and tidy as possible. of course, she added her own twist to the drink, because maybe her favorite type of hot-chocolate was the one that had a tad of spice to it, and the pepper mint definitely helped with that.

so, neatly putting it in small bags, and writing the message on the underside of the tag, elly put them neatly next to everyone’s belongings before scooting away as if nothing had happened. the message read;;

shiah hadn’t been expecting to receive anything for christmas, except maybe something from dahye, so receiving a little something from another trainee within royal was quite a pleasant surprise. it was from elly, which maybe shiah should’ve expected since elly had that unnie / eomma feel to her, the kind to take care of the people around her and look after others even if it’s from afar. the bag was adorable, causing shiah to smile at it. the note made her smile even more.

the note also made her reflect though, especially on her family situation. the people she loved? none of her family came to mind first anymore. dahye came to mind first, out of all the people she knew. not even hyunah came to mind before dahye. she hadn’t seen her younger sister in months, and the girl hadn’t tried to reach out to shiah on her own accord, behind the back of their mother. it made shiah wonder if they actually were as close as she thought they were, or if it was just her. it made her expression fall a bit, but hey, she had dahye didn’t she?

a wide smile spreads across his lips when baekhyun’s in the locker room, interrupted in his plans to just quickly grab his things before getting out of there -- out of the company -- by a small gift sitting between his belongings.

baekhyun loves receiving gifts, to be honest.

he sees the cute bag, opens it up to only throw a peek inside and immediately knows it’s from elly. like it could be from pretty much everyone but he just knows it’s from her, he’s sure. it’s almost the same thing she did last year, it’s the same method of handing out the christmas gifts and, although, baekhyun’s not entirely the same person he’s been last year, this still makes him very happy. it’s such a sweet idea, such a nice gesture;

again, another gift that he can’t say thank you for.  at least, not right away - this time, the gift is left by his bag, but at the very least jinseok this time knows who exactly left it for him.  he’s thankful for the tag, because at least this way he can show elly he’s grateful for her kindness, if not in the form of a gift of his own than at least with his actions.  it’s a really thoughtful gift, one that she obviously put effort and time into - and jinseok appreciates these things all the more.  after all, they already have rather busy schedules and she still took the time out of her day to make a mix and think of him while doing so.
