@ellietramp (continued from here):
Ellie hadn't expected to run into Slightly tonight, who had apparently just performed at the House of Mouse, but it was a pleasant surprise. She hadn't seen him since the apartment party — it was crazy to think that she was going through a lot then, but how much more had happened since. Could she ever catch a break? Nonetheless, Slightly was always a nice distraction from whatever was bothering her, which he proved the night of the party and again tonight. She smiled at the suggestion as they walked down the sidewalk, the lack of people on the roads and walkways indicating how late it truly was. "I could never say no to midnight snacks, but .. will we even find a place that's open?"
“There’s always a twenty-four hour convenience store somewhere even if all the restaurants are closed,” Slightly answered, having plenty of experience of late nights in the city. He was already leading the way toward what he knew to be the nearest one, following the mental map of these streets in his head. “Have you heard of girl dinner? A bag of chips and a fudge pop: girl dinner. Gas station nachos and a whole pickle: girl dinner.” Maybe they didn’t know each other well enough yet for Slightly to pry into why Ellie had looked so troubled when they ran into each other, but seeing her smile as he brought up food made him think it was a good idea to keep talking, to help take her mind off whatever it was.
