Eyes: Amber gold with flecks of emerald green.
Build: Athletic and slightly curvy
Powers: She possesses the rare ability to manipulate the energy of a body-human or not-to sense sensitivities and troubles with someone’s health/physical condition and act accordingly-for better or worse.
Skills: Quite skilled with swords and polearms. She also has some knowledge of hand to hand combat. She’s averse to using any of those skills these days.
History: Elliane-or Elli to her few friends-wasn’t always a healer. Before she chose to use her particular gifts to heal pain and ease suffering, she was a warrior, using the magic that run free and abundant through her body to kill enemies in battle. She didn’t only use those skills, however; she was, and remains, quite apt with weapons of her own choosing.
Nothing dramatic happened to make her change her path-or so she says, but she quickly changes the topic if asked anyway. As she states, she merely grew tired of dealing death, tired of seeing it everywhere around her. Very tired of the bloodshed and wars waged for any reason-the reasons never seemed to matter to her anyway.
And so, Elliane abandoned the fields of battle and retreated into the wilds of the world. For years, she lived as a hermit, in the very literal middle of nowhere, her whereabouts unknown except for those few who happened to stumble across her humble abode; it was usually people in need of her skills and help, since she had spelled the glade she’d come to inhabit to only allow those through to her. She was quite content to never come into touch with the world at large again.
Even in her self-imposed isolation, she felt the whispers of darkness rising again, the same darkness she’d battled before. She ignored the whispers and her own unease, adamant in her own decisions.
And then the most unlikely person imaginable found his way to her haven in the wilds. An old enemy, an older even friend, someone she had once been close to but had since then fought time and time again, since he had chosen to join the very Darkness that shrouded their world.
Lomear, Sauron’s lieutenant, servant of the Deceiver since the very Rings were forged, stood at her doorstep, surprise on his face upon seeing her.
And then he collapsed at her very doorstep.
But perhaps that is a story for another time.
Suffice it to say, he convinced her to rejoin the world-because she was needed.
Personality: Elliane is not an easy person. She is brusque, rude on occasion and not very patient at all-she has very little tolerance to spare and no inclination at all towards diplomacy and unneeded flourishes.
As healers go, she is not very considerate or very sympathetic and she is perhaps a bit too blunt for the comfort of her patients. She will directly tell them what the problem is, no dancing around it or trying to ease any blows. Furthermore, she won’t conceal her disdain towards people who’ve clearly brought themselves to trouble…and may make them wait till she tends to them, leave them in their suffering a while.
She is very efficient though, very precise and excellent at what she does-whether it involves using her powers or more traditional medical skills. She claims she has no use for things like emotions and dramatics, so she will go out of her way to steer clear of things like that. This makes her come off as cold and distant.
In truth, she cares far more deeply about things than she is letting on; her distance is a meticulously created and carefully maintained façade she is reluctant to let go of-she’s not sure if she even can, given she’s been living with it for a long while now. She is attentive and almost kind to those few who earn her affection and care, though-when she feels she can let the armor slip just a little bit.
Appearance: Elli is a tall, impressive woman with an athletic build that is, however, curvy in the right places. Her physique and the graceful way she carries herself-a consequence of many years of battle and disciplined training-will never fail to turn heads.
She never really notices, admittedly.
She usually favors loose clothing in a variety of colors, with comfort and ease of movement as her primary concern. She does however, have a weakness for jewelry; though she doesn’t own much of it, she will always be wearing something. All her jewelry is unique to her and each piece holds a special significance.
She will usually wear her long hair braided back and out of her face, in a look that seems austere, but is just very practical to her.
Though most people-and her patients first and foremost-have no idea, she is never without a dagger or two hidden away on her person. Old habits die hard, she would say, though she doesn’t really need the weapons; if threatened these days, she will resort to her powers like a duck to water. She will however try her best to avoid using these in a deadly fashion.
