O7 - What is the most challenging part of worldbuilding for you?

Hands down the cultural stuff. I have such a hard time coming up with traditions, festivals, religions, superstitions, etc. All those little details that make a culture really come alive, I struggle with.

O9 - What time period does this WIP take place in? If it takes place in another world, were you inspired by a particular time period?

All of my current serious WIPs (ATQH, CoS, High Fantasy WIP) take place not in our world. However, all of them are vaguely inspired by medieval times. But like I said, vaguely. There's a lot of deviance especially in terms of technology. I'm very loose in my basing of things, so there's a lot of things that don't line up. There may or may not be running water, but there is never electricity or self-powered vehicles.

P3 - Who makes the laws?  Who enforces them?

This depends on the WIP and the location. In ATQH, all three kingdoms have their laws made by the Monarch of the kingdom, whoever they may be. However, for example, Fallon takes a lot more suggestion and opinion from her nobles and the commoners into account, where as Pierre and the Empress do not. In CoS, things work similarly to Anvia in ATQH. The Monarch makes the laws, but has a council of nobles who represent various provinces and towns who are meant to represent their people. In the case of Dorian's parents, they would even hear petitions directly from commoners. Lenora let that practice go a bit, however. In Unnamed WIP #1, in <Prince>'s kingdom, the laws are made by the Council, which consists of every single noble in the kingdom. It's a very slow process, somewhat akin to the U.S. Congress, except that the representatives are not elected. In all of these, some kind of town or city guard enforces the law in public.

P6 - What are the politics of your world like?  What are the major political issues?

In ATQH, the biggest political issue is the weird relationship between Anvia and Oryn, as well as Oraine's involvement as a bridge between the two. Anvia and Oryn have had a rather rocky relationship for well over a century, and most recently, bandits from Oryn have been attacking border towns in Anvia. Fallon has written Pierre many times, but has received no reply. (Pierre tends to take a "not my problem" approach to just about everything...) U5 - Are there any phrases, metaphors, etc. that are unique to your WIP?

Okay so one of these (!!) equates to the introduction of a single OC...

From Spirit's Call, I'm going to introduce to you the main character, who is a young teen girl named Aliya Mortallie!

Aliya Mortallie, fun fact, is also the librarian that runs the Sunlight Library in Goblin Theft Auto and is the owner of the library's magical cat named Naida, but that is stretching too far out of who I'm introducing in the first place!

Anyway...

Aliya Mortallie, is a young teen girl born in Penwood City and was one of those children who believed in the existence of magical spirits, after all she had heard about an urban legend surrounding the Night Demons called by locals "The Midnight Curse" (wholly unrelated to the character, Midnight btw) and because of that, dove fully into exploring her passion for the studying of spirits, ghosts, and their magic!

I figured it was about time to update my writeblr introduction so here we go!

...I'd have to say Staticlight's strange powers, which range from being able to control and manipulate power lines, to brainwashing people over television and distorting and fucking with radio waves <3

I think 10 things that make me happy are, in no real order:

1. Writing

2. Creativity in general

3. Hockey (playing and watching)

4. Cats (especially my own, but others make me happy! Send me cat pics!)

5. Creating characters / worlds

6. Music, especially that of the rock/metal variety, but i'm pretty open to other stuff too

7. A whole bed full of blankets!! We love comfort here!

8. Things that are absurdly huge or absurdly small (i have no idea why, it just sparks joy)

9. Long Youtube videos or TV shows, especially documentary style ones; I really enjoy being told A Thing (tm) while I'm doing other stuff
