elierlick endorses propaganda from a twitter “satire” account that acts like all US prisons are “labour camps” to criticize, implicitly, US reporting on China.

This is right in line with the other stupidity I’ve seen from elierlick.

then why is eli erlick still the director of “a national youth-led organization” for trans people? what about the victims eli erlick has access to through this while traveling & speaking? how many victims are being left in eli erlick’s wake?

this admission of guilt is a far cry from eli erlick’s current posts, which state that “false accusations are a part of rape culture” and that there are many “insane conspiracy theories” floating around.

Maybe because socialists keep proposing it?

There’s also the parts where forgiving student loan debt or free college would cause a massive economic disruption, and college is expensive in the first place because of government interference. Those are also major criticisms.

Last time I checked, the government was widely criticized for crappy public schools too, by the left and the right. \

For those of you in the US, here are some facts about guns you may not know:

1. There is no evidence violent video games lead to gun violence.

2. There is, however, evidence that white supremacy, domestic abuse, and nationalism are the top indicators of gun violence.

3. There is no link between mental illness and gun violence. Mentally ill people are not more likely to commit mass shootings. Over half of people in the US could be diagnosed with at least one mental illness. Don’t contribute to the stigma by suggesting mentally ill people are violent.

4. It is unlikely that any number of guns can save us from a tyrannical government. While we must support people’s right to defend themselves, mass distribution of semi-automatic weapons isn’t the way to do it.

5. On average, US Police kill more people each year than mass shooters. If we must focus on one demographic for disarmament, focus on cops.

Okay. How do they stack up against being, say, a young black man? And before you call me racist, young black man have a very high chance of also being victims of gun violence. And I’m a black dude.

And are mass shooters more likely to be mentally ill? Because I’m pretty sure that’s the actual claim. You’re getting it backwards. 

Possibly deliberately.

If just ten percent of gun owners in America fought back against the government, they’d outnumber the cops and military combined five to one.

Also, the vast majority of legal gun owners never use their weapon on a human being, whether in self-defense, murder, or suicide. Most murders and gun crime are with illegally owned firearms.

Heck, I’ve heard CCW carriers are less likely to be criminals than cops.

And what about the armed criminals? 

And why are you implying every cop who kills someone wasn’t justified? 

And do you not realize cops still kill people even without guns? 

Heck, there are plenty of countries with strict gun control where the cops are still armed.

My high school had a rule that our shorts couldn’t go above a certain point on our legs. If we broke this rule, we would be forced into a humiliating large yellow shirt named “big bird” in order to publicly shame girls for distracting te boys. Although, no one ever had to wear the shirt except me. After a group of skinheads saw my shorts during my sophomore year, they coughed and told me, “put on some pants, boy!” They then complained to the school staff, who gleefully forced me to wear the shirt. 

Behind the shame, I was somewhat proud of having to wear the shirt which was supposed to target (cis) girls. In both affirming my gender as a trans woman while also shaming me for my womanhood, a question about the place of “equality and inclusion” in our movement comes to mind. On paper, I was treated with the same disrespect as any other girl. However, we should ask for more than mere trans equality: instead we could work toward abolishing the rules that affect all women.
