I do not have a story of my own to tell, beyond that he tried numerous times to engage me in conversation and I politely avoided being drawn in. From the beginning I wasn’t keen - for no reason I could put my finger on other than ✨bad vibes✨ - but after watching his behaviour in taking what appeared to be some kind of extremely sadistic pleasure in actively starting fights with Grace stans in our community, I didn’t want anything to do with him. Ship who you want, I don’t care, but there’s no room for bullying or attacking people just because they don’t agree with you.

But in all the horror he has created, I think this has served as an important reminder for us all to think more about how we protect ourselves online.

Anyone can be anyone in a place where we live behind our blogs and screens. It is devastating that this happened in a community like ours, where we are so kind and welcoming - exactly the reason why we love it here - and that someone would exploit that as a weakness. But it’s a wake up. I never want us to be less welcoming to newbies but we all need to be more confident in listening to our gut feelings, not accepting things at face value and being careful about how much irl stuff we divulge to strangers on the internet.

And above all, I’m begging you friends, please never EVER send nude photos of yourself to someone you don’t know (or even someone you do - I’m serious).

I also wanted to write this not just to condole but because am pretty certain I have found another account he is using - because it followed me a few days ago and I know from speaking to friends it also followed them on the same day. However, as I can’t prove that it is him, I don’t want to name it, in case I am wrong. It is entirely based on instinct from looking at it - but given this was the same gut instinct that made me avoid him originally, I’m sticking to it and have blocked the account.

If you want to know, I am happy to discuss in DMs so you can have a look and decide for yourselves. I am acutely aware that he has no qualms about creating new accounts to stay amongst us and I want all of us to be vigilant and stay safe.
