Holmes & Watson (Joanlock) on Elementary are not just partners (in crime). They are much better than that. They are two characters, who love each other (platonically, familially)... always have been. They are the greatest example of platonic life partners in the history of TV (IMO). They are not just (work) partners & roommates & a great “bromance”. They are a family of their own. 

And yes... bittersweet is a way to describe the finale. The end of the story brings all kinds of emotions. But as sad as some parts may make you feel, I hope other parts will bring you great joy. Because these are Holmes & Watson, and they are ...bound... somehow...
