I hope this is to your liking! I headcannon Roddy as having some first aid training and I went with that!

His optics take a few tries to flicker on and for a moment he worries that they were damaged. His visual feed is fuzzy and hard to focus in the dim room he is resting in. He blinks several times as he notices the pinkish-red and gold frame working on his chest, the touches light enough that he barely feels them. It is then that he grows aware of the dull, but heavy, ache in his chest.

“Roddy…” He croaks as he brings up a servo to rub at his chest, only to be restrained by Hot Rod’s smaller servos. “What happened?”

Hot Rod was startled from his work when he was addressed. He’d only just caught the large servo before it had come down on the delicate patchwork on Deadlock’s chest. “You took a blast to the chest from Ironhide,” he says as he laid Deadlock’s servo back on the berth. “Stay down.”

Deadlock huffs and drags his servo over his face as the past events came to him. How had he not noticed Ironhide of all mechs? “Did we win?”

“We did.” Hot Rod puts away his first aid kit. “How do you feel?” He asks as he runs a servo over an uninjured section of Deadlock’s chestplates.

“Like slag,” Deadlock chuckles hoarsely. His optics run across Hot Rod’s frame with barely disguised worry. “Were you hurt?”

“Not as bad as you,” Hot Rod assures as he climbs into the berth to curl up next to Deadlock. He pulls a small datapad from his subspace and shows it to his companion. “I found a new story in the archives while you were out.”

Deadlock wraps an arm around Hot Rod’s waist and pulls him close. “You didn’t start it without me, did you?” He asks, he was just teasing though, he knew Roddy wouldn’t do that.

“Of course not,” Hot Rod says. He leans up and presses a quick kiss to Deadlock’s cheek. “You just rest and relax. It’s my turn to read this ti-”

Deadlock chuckled at the indignant noise Roddy makes when he is pulled into a second, slightly more drawn out kiss. He rests his helm on top of Roddy’s when they break apart, smirking at the small huff he received.

 - Nadia would love to support your art, whether it be drawn, painted, or written. Knowing that her s/o is creative would make her want to talk to them all the time about all sorts of different topics, just to have their take on it. She can come up with very creative solutions to problems she faces as countess, but she never really had much of a creative side other than that-but if given the time, she could discover one!

i love that i found this in the driftrod tag and the other ship i saw this tagged with is zutara,, ships that werent canon but shouldve been never die

oh, lol, i never had any illusions about driftrod being canon. it was fairly obvious early on that if anything’s gonna happen, it’ll be dratchet. and that the writer really dislikes driftrod and you know, the way he completely forgot that drift has a personality, or how this whole quest wouldn’t have happened if drift and rodimus weren’t friends and a whole plethora of other things that need their own post.
