ā”Fixing my Universal AC Adapter/Charger with another Electrolytic Capacitor Vol. 2 (w/ my Paper Dolls) - Ā Part 2 (Final) [Nov. 4, 2020]ā”
Hereās my (final) Part 2 of fixing my universal ac adapter/charger w/ another electrolytic capacitorĀ (47uf, 400V)Ā ā” and my paper dolls as a company. (Sorry my introduction is awful, but I try my best).š
If you havenāt seen myĀ āPart 1ā², then please [CLICK ME!].
BTW: Some of my photo(s) [snapshot by my Honor 8Cš±] are combined into one photoĀ š¼ļø using GIMP (2.10.20).
So without further ado, letās get started:
9th & 10th Image(s): ā¢[9th Image]:Ā Okay so, I take off the hard plastic covers to see the circuitry board. And here you see I pointed out using my solder sucker was two soldering prints that need to remove from the damaged electrolytic capacitor (47uf, 400V). Iām gonna go ahead remove the solder using my soldering iron and the solder sucker. ā¢[10th Image]: Hereās my progress on removing, it takes time and patience though so Iāll try not to be hard.š
11th Image: ⢠After a minutes of removing the damaged capacitorĀ (47uf, 400V), I finally succeed.š Here you see that thereās a epoxy potty that theyāre using to hold the large damaged capacitorĀ (47uf, 400V) was a bit troublesome if I remove it. Also thereās some burn smudge from the circuitry board, I would like to clean that but I donāt have a isopropyl alcohol for electronics.š Iāll be planning to get that someday... Anyway.
12th & 13th Image(s) [combined]: ⢠Here the comparison between the old damaged one and the new electrolyticĀ capacitor (47uf, 400V); as you might a guess the new capacitor is small in height than the big one, but at least I picked the right specific volt and ultra filtration specs for the small one.š Now time to solder the new one onto the circuitry board.š
14th Image: ⢠Hereās the new capacitorĀ (47uf, 400V) finally installed onto the circuitry board by soldering. It seems to me that I donāt need to bend the metal terminal leads, despite the new capacitor was small height. Good for you.š
15th & 16th Image(s) [combined]: ⢠The excess terminal leads needs to cut off by using this nipper, itāll make a room for placing.āļøš Now with the solder installation process is complete, Iām gonna go assemble right away and clean my working space.š I hope my process is success.š¤
17th & 18th Image(s): ⢠It worked! Yes!š My operation was a success, and my paper dolls say thatĀ āGood job! You did it!ā. Thanks-a-bunch!š
19th & 20th Image(s): ⢠Now I can finally use the laptop (Lenovo G470) once again! My paper dolls seems to be praised of my soldering hard work!š¤
ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢[UPDATE]ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢
Okay so I have two things that I need to be addressed:
#1: Unfortunately, the universal ac adapter/charger had a floss after I installed the new electrolytic capacitor (47uf, 400V) by soldering. Once I plugged into the electric socket, I notice that it takes long to light up the indicator from the adapter/charger for about a minutes or so. It strange that itās not supposed to be though, usually I plugged in and it quickly lit the adapter before I turn on the laptop.š So I would say itās bit failure, butĀ at least I could use the laptop once more... Only if I waiting patiently to lit up the adapter.
#2: And finally this is the major one... Iām almost moving out from the (Lenovo G470) laptop to the PC gaming desktop.Ā šš»ā”ļøš„ļø Why? Because my young brother (sibling) is purchasing his own custom and new PC gaming desktop, with better specs of motherboard, graphic card, CPU, etc than the old one (just to surpass the Autodesk Revitās modern system requirements, and he needs that for his work). My young bro said that once his entire files are transfer to the new one, I will move out from the laptop to his former PC gaming desktop and my files needs to be move right away. As for the laptop, itāll preserve as a memory and not to remove the hard drive from the laptop. And thatās good news!š I do REALLY need that former broās PC gaming desktop. And after all itās already built-in Windows 10 OS with some medium specs from the former broās PC gaming desktop š„ļø, which is far better than the laptopās old specs (Lenovo G470)š».š
⢠So now Iām planning a final remarks about the old laptop (Lenovo G470) before I moved all of my important files to the PC gaming desktop this month. I have so much memories about using the laptop throughout the years since 2016, and for that I really missed that laptop very much.ššļø Again Iām planning it soon before the laptop will take away from my working desk and replacing it with a single old monitor of his.š
ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢
Alright moving on...
Overall: ⢠As I said in the 1st update, the universal ac adapter/charger had a major floss... Otherwise I did very well on my soldering process, plus I can use finally the laptop once again. Although Iāll be wait until the light indicator was on.š You know what I probably should earn some money to buy a new one soon, because the old adapter doesnāt seem right though... But overall I did good.šš
⢠And speaking of, Iām revealing the itemsā price and links that I promised:ā
