A mixed phantom design, a mixture of @zillychu phantom design and the phantom from You Wouldnât Like Me Alive by the_bastard_king on Ao3
âź â Ë let me into your heart
Ellie redesign because I want to draw her more and I never liked her og ghost form fit. It screamed early 2000âs fashion but not ghost clone of undead superhero.
She is both girl boss and baby girl and I love that for her!!!
Also i made her have muscles spasms whenever a ghost is near by because I also have random muscle spasms at random times.
DannyMay Day 8 - Electric Core AU
(day 7 is coming, I promise afhdsj)
Words: 1,804 (FFN)
Summary: Vlad wants more than anything to help the child who has fallen to his same fate. Unfortunately for him, his help is the last thing Danny wants. (dialogue prompt borrowed from @danphanwritingprompts)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
âI want to go home.â
Vlad frowned at the boy huddled into the corner of the couch across from him. âYou are home,â he replied matter-of-factly before taking a sip of his tea.Â
âNo,â Daniel said. The dark bags under his eyes stood out in sharp contrast to his paper-white face. His left eye and cheek convulsed in a tic. âYou kidnapped me from my actual home.â
Vlad sighed. Heâd been over this with the child already. âI didnât kidnap you,â he said. âI brought you here to help you, my dear boy. I told you, Iâm the only one who can truly help you.â The fact that he continued to ignore this fact was beginning to irk Vlad a little, but it was more hurtful than anything.
Daniel pulled his knees even tighter into his chest as his face twitched again. âI had Sam and Tucker. They wouldâve helped me.â
âI certainly believe they would have attempted to help you, but their success in doing so is a completely different matter. Do you think they can even begin to understand the things youâre going through? The being youâve become?â
âDonât say that!â Daniel shouted. His eyes flared momentarily with a toxic green glow. Tiny sparks crackled in his disheveled hair. âIâm fine. We were figuring it out just fine until you showed up and kidnapped me!â
Vlad gingerly set his teacup down and inhaled deeply through his nose. It was⊠difficult to avoid showing the painful impact of the childâs words. It was even more difficult to avoid retaliating with his own shouts. âPlease, my boy,â he pleaded, switching tactics. âLook at yourself. You can barely keep yourself corporeal! Itâs a miracle you hadnât blown out your parentsâ circuit system by the time I found you!â
Daniel pressed his hands over his ears and shook his head like a toddler throwing a tantrum. âNo, no,â he said as he squeezed his eyes shut. âItâs just a side effect, itâll wear off soon. Itâs just a side effect, itâll wear off soon.â He continued to repeat the sentence over and over again like a mantra, his face continuing to tic irregularly.
Vlad found himself at a bit of a loss. It had been a while since heâd been in such prolonged, close contact with anyone, least of all a teenager. He was admittedly embarrassed that he didnât quite know how to conduct himself here. A consequence of choosing to lead a life of reclusivity, he supposed, but it was now proving to be a disadvantageous choice.
Then again, what other choice could he have possibly had? After being quarantined, after losing contact with Jack and Maddie, after discovering just what heâd becomeâŠ
He resisted a shudder. No, he couldnât let the same thing happen to this poor child.
Silently, he rose from his armchair and moved toward Daniel, choosing to simply phase through the coffee table. The boy still had his hands pressed over his ears and his eyes shut tight; his mouth continued to move in his mantra, but no sound was coming out. Vlad knelt in front of him. He reached out to take Danielâs hand, but he hesitated and settled for grasping the edge of the couch after thinking better of it.
âDaniel,â he said, then, remembering how heâd first been introduced to the boy, said, âDannyâŠâ Buttercream frosting, this was hard. He hadnât been in a position where heâd had to comfort someone other than himself in years. Was he keeping his voice gentle enough? Did he seem calm? He certainly didnât feel calm.
Focus, he told himself. Taking a deep breath, he began again. âDanny, please,â he begged.
Miraculously, the boy heard him. Watery blue eyes opened and bored straight into Vladâs. The man had to resist the urge to shy away from Danielâs intense gaze. He could see the unfiltered power simmering behind those eyes, and he found himself wondering exactly what the child was capable of.
âPlease,â Daniel whispered in a cracking voice. âPlease⊠I donât - I just wanna go home. I just want all of this to stop.â His cheek convulsed again as he lowered his gaze. Almost inaudibly, he said, âI donât even know what I am anymore.â
Vlad watched in empathetic sorrow. Heâd been plagued with the same thoughts for years after his accident and forced quarantine. Even now, he occasionally found himself second-guessing his own existence. In comparison, the boyâs accident had only happened a few weeks ago. Nowhere near long enough to come to terms with the whirlwind of emotional chaos and confusion that came with it.
âYou are⊠a wonder,â he began slowly. Before he could stop himself, he continued, âYou have come face to face with Death and denied him - a feat that few others throughout history have been able to accomplish. You - you have been reborn from the elements of your death, into something far greater than an average human. You are nothing short of the miracle that has led you here.âÂ
Vladâs own words surprised him. Usually he wasnât one to wax poetic like that. It was this child, though - this unassuming fourteen-year-old boy who never would have caught his eye otherwise. Something about him compelled Vlad, grabbed him by the shoulders and tore at his heartstrings, stirring in him, for the first time in nearly 20 years, the wrenching pain of care for another.
And he was okay with it. More than okay with it. The realization that heâd meant every word heâd said terrified him, but in the same butterfly-inducing terror that possessed a person just before they took the leap of faith.
He was ready to take that leap.
Daniel stared at him, dumbfounded. âA miracle?â he hissed. His eyes burned with green light again, and Vlad caught a vague whiff of sulfur. âYouâre calling this nightmare a miracle?â
Vlad faltered. He hadnât exactly been expecting this response. âOh, my child, not like that. Please, I -â
âNo!â Daniel shouted. The tears evaporated from his eyes in a tiny puff of steam. Sparks began snapping in his hair again. âI am not your child! Donât you dare call me that!â
He extended his legs abruptly, nearly knocking Vlad from his feet. The man quickly stood, hands raised. âDanie- Danny, please.â He was struggling to maintain his calm demeanor in the face of a boy rapidly losing control of his already unstable abilities. âAll I want is to help you!â
âI donât want your help!â
Perhaps words werenât the way to placate him, Vlad was beginning to realize. Maybe a physical demonstration would be more effective. He exhaled and concentrated on the buzzing knot of energy right above his sternum. With the precision of two decades worth of practice, he willed the energy forward, into his arms and hands. He was vaguely aware of the crackling electricity rippling across his scalp and down his spine.
Ever so gently, he expanded his energy further. No need to frighten the boy any more than he already was. But he needed to do this. He needed to show him he could help.
Danielâs eyes flew wide open. âWhat are you doing?â he demanded, though his voice trembled. Whether it was from fear or anger, Vlad couldnât tell.
âIâm trying to show you,â the man explained. In one swift move, he allowed his energy to make contact with Danielâs, but he was nearly overwhelmed by the sheer strength and ferocity of the childâs aura. A quiet voice in the back of his head began to worry that the boyâs power was too much for either of them to handle.
He silenced that voice quickly. He couldnât give into that, not now.
Instead, he said, âCanât you feel it? You and I, weâre the same. Our energies are the same.â It was true. Being so close to Danielâs own fledgling core, feeling the unwilling yet inevitable ballet between their two spirits, it told him as much. His hot, precise electricity found itself in perfect harmony with the boyâs burning cold lightning storm. The resulting potential was intoxicating. Vlad savored it with every passing second.
He needed this. He needed to help the child, to make him understand just how right it was that he was here.
Daniel, sadly, did not have the same reaction. He yelped and tried to scamper as far from Vlad as possible, resulting in him falling through the back of the couch. By the time Vlad rounded the corner of the couch, Daniel was back on his feet, though his form continued to flicker and his face twitched more rapidly. The snapping electricity in his hair fizzled through strands faster and faster, and Vlad caught sight of an angry red lightning pattern painting the underside of the boyâs jaw, down his neck, and below his collar.
âS-stay away from me!â Daniel shouted, continuing to stumble backward. âWeâre not - Iâm nothing like you!â
The words stung Vlad like a thousand wasps. Losing all remaining composure, he cried, âThatâs not true! Please, Dani- Danny, I can help you! Iâve been through this just like you, I can teach you how to control it, but please, you must calm down before you hurt yourself!â And before I lose you, he added silently.
Danielâs fingers dug into his biceps. His eyes were shut tightly again, but Vlad could still see the remnants of their toxic green glow seeping through the cracks. His facial tic was uncontrollable at this point. âIâm not - I-I canâtâŠâ he gasped in between short, panicked breaths. The smell of sulfuric ozone was pungent at this point.
Daniel fell to his knees. Hastily, Vlad drew his energy back in and dropped to his knees as well. âDaniel! Can you hear me?â
The boy didnât respond. Instead, he gasped violently and opened his eyes wide, revealing twin pools of green. âM-my⊠too - too much,â he choked out as his form flickered wildly.Â
The moments that followed happened in quick succession. Vlad, operating purely from his panic, reached forward to put his hands on Danielâs shoulders. In that moment, he felt every hair on his arms and the back of his neck stand upright; the tang of something metallic could be tasted in the air. He recognized the hallmark signs of the impending disaster and, in the next moment, realized he was too late to stop it.
The instant his hands made contact with Daniel, a blinding white bolt of electricity cracked into existence, forming a ring around the boyâs waist.Â
The resounding force launched Vlad backwards and into a bookcase. The back of his head slammed into the edge of a shelf, and he crumpled to the ground.
The last thing he saw as he slipped into unconsciousness was lightning dancing across snow white hair and Danielâs acidic green eyes.

An electric core
Danny would never forget.
The smell of smoke.
The flash of light
Green electricity shooting what appeared to be lightning all round him.
The pain shooting from his arm. Then the beam of light shooting around him. A green ring transforming him.
The screaming form he and his friends
Dying and coming back.
Everything changed from that day.
Lichtenberg scars now ran along his arm.
No longer able to storm watch with his friends. Thunder began to bother him often accompanied by lightning. He couldnât watch shows with bright flashes or lightning. Lights flickering began to happen around him. The power lines had overloaded around him. Sparks coming off the lines. Electronics became a taunt. Even having fried a motherboard his parents had left out. No longer was he playing his video games.
Activities he once enjoyed brought him back to his death. A memory he wanted to forget. One he could never forget. No form was safe from the memories.
Then powers came with his death
Becoming a halfa wasnât the worse.
Original he thought heâd enjoy the powers. Being invisible, the ability to walk through wall, and even flying. Danny thought it would be great. Play some pranks and have some fun. Something good had come from the event.
Then the ghost appeared.
And then being a halfa was the worst.
His parents never shut the portal down. There Fenton lock was a joke. How often did his dad leave it open? Far too often. Only to catch ghost as if they were fish flinging them into the human realm. Every ghost, ever rogue, any entity that made it through made his life a living nightmare. No need to attack the humans. Even without touching his friends made him relive the accident.
All because of his ghost sense.
Not some silly little breath. No chill along his spins. Not a cool warning.
No.
It was shockingly horrible time. His scars would glow green. Lights could flicker, blowing a breaker or two. The feeling of a being shocked is what got him. It wasnât painful, not at all. It just brought him back to the accident. Every time a ghost appeared.
Lunch Lady was his first experience. He couldnât stand her appearances anymore. Even with the shocks so minor she laid the foundation. That experience had been the worst.
The screaming
Falling to the ground
His scars glowing a light green.
Vison fading black.
Remembering his death
The muscle spasms that followed.
Forgetting to breathe
It was too much.
Anytime a ghost was near it happened. Always starting from the middle. If only he could just get used to it. Even without pain his arms always had phantom pains after. Danny just needed the ghost to stop coming through the portal.
Heâd rather surprise attacks.
Keeping box ghost in the thermos became more considered each time he showed up. Boxy took no hints, only wanting to cause chaos. An escape nearly every day. If his ghost sense wasnât so bad, he would be worth the effort. He had been ready to just trap him for eternity.
The first three months absolute torture. There was no relief. Everything set him off. There was no escape.
The more it happened the less he remembered. Having been forced to process what had happened. To realize and accept his death.
No more muscle spasm
No being unable to breathe.
Hardly any memories
Never forgetting but not being reminded.
He accepted his ghost sense. It wasnât a problem anymore. It was a part of him and would be as long as he had these powers.
Then they grew. The powers just had to get worse. Â His so-called ghost sense was happening at random. Even when no ghosts were around. It didnât make sense. How can someone get used to something that changes. The level of shock, muscle spasm randomly occurring.
One day lightning shot from his hands. The flashes of the portal came shooting back. Danny couldnât stop it. Green lightning kept coming out of him. The more it happened the less control he had. The strikes were wild and unpredictable.
His powers scared him.
The flashes brought him back. He couldnât help but get lost in his thoughts. A reminder of what happened each time the lightning came from him.
Random green sparks. Random strikes. More storms happening in amity.
All his fault
Everywhere he went set him off.
Forced into his mind too much.
He just wanted to suppress it.
Once he held out. Lasted a week. It forced its way out. Causing him to collapse in pain he hadnât felt since the accident. Everything burned from his chest spreading out. It wasnât just memories. Danny thought it would kill him.
Anytime he attempted to suppress it would force itself out.
It was a curse.
Danny couldnât get rid of it. He didnât know how to or if it was even possible.
Danny doesnât remember ending up in the ghost zone. One second his vison had gone black. The flash of his green lightning, the next he is floating in the ghost zone. The word faded and he is in the far frozen. Doesnât recall getting here but he was.
Frostbite had greeted him in concern. All Danny could feel was the hum of static.
Apparently, he had a core.
Something he needed to survive. The thing that allowed him to use his powers.
An Electric core.
The yetis explained he needed to control it. If he didnât use his powers, it would force itself out. The more he suppressed the more it would hurt. If he was scared the powers would run wild. There would be no control if he didnât accept them.
They had ice cores. They couldnât help.
Technus could and did.
The two had set aside their differences. Technus took a break from his conquering the world bit as he only took it as a challenge. Technus had felt the core long before Danny even knew it was there. He only went after the world as Danny did accidently suggest it.
Technus helped him use his powers. Make it apart of himself and even taught him party tricks.
Charging his phone without a cord.
Even some basic tech control. He could make a remote car work without the remote.
Making lights flicker on command. That was a fun way to mess with his parents.
The lightning was his to control. Not the other way. It was his.
Danny still had off days. The random muscle spasms that came from being over charged. Lightning was attracted to him. He still didnât like storms.
Those days were better spent with his friends.
Dannymay Day 8: Electric Core AU
Danny could feel the static buzz just beneath his skin. Itâs been ever present since the accident. Not long after, Sam stated every time he touched her, she got a slight shock, and Tucker stopped letting him even so much as look at his precious PDA. His parents gave up on getting his phone to work again, and straight up banned him from going into the lab. Jack and Maddie couldnât figure it out, but Danny knew exactly what was happening. The buzz got more intense, making his hair stand on end. A slight crackling shock emitted from his hand, which he quickly raised, already getting up to leave before the sentence even left his mouth. âMr. Lancer, can I use the bathroom? Thanks!â And he left the classroom to go transform and take care of the ghost.
