Left behind. The river running past and from Llyn Eigiau, where the Dolgarrog dam disaster was born. On the night of November 2nd,1925 the shoddily built dam burst, releasing a torrent of water which destroyed houses and killed 16 people in the village before. Thankfully a lot of people were watching a film at the local theatre. This place, with its abandoned workings, and the great breach in the towering dam wall, always has a solemn feeling to it.
