the uks ehcp thing.
ive read about such things as children being denied because theyve never been able to go to school, rnt deemed 'severe enough', my own case of having an ehcp for primary school only to have it taken away in secondary cuz nobody told anyone what paperwork they needed to do. plus even if u r deemed some1 who needs to get 1 good luck cuz ull be going through 5 years of waiting just to get denied cuz fuck u ig and now need to reapply and wait even longer and by that point ive probably finished at least secondary and maybe college by then.
ive been saying this over and over before in my life and ill say it again. the uk does not care about educating children. especially not disabled children.
Made sure to read about this before responding.
This is ableism.
I have so many friends who (if this applied in the US) would’ve lost 504s because they got good grades, meanwhile they have to do bulk of the work at home to actually understand the material.
Accommodations shouldn’t be this strict in how they’re applied, it makes things harder for disabled children in school who now need to do more work at home than at school because they were denied accommodations.
