Baby K is 6.5 months and officially allergic to peanut and egg 😥 . I haven’t had dairy, soy, wheat, egg, or nuts since late November because we knew something was up. Like her siblings, her poopy diapers showed us that her belly was struggling. So we eliminated these most common causes of irritation. But, both H and M tested negative for allergies and their intolerances are getting better as they grow up. I’m so hopeful that K will grow out of her egg allergy and then defy the peanut allergy stats to outgrow that as well! . Until then, we will continue trying new foods (she loves broccoli and sweet potato and chicken and steak...and carrots and strawberries and etc etc...) and be glad for all the peanut-free options out there! . When the doctor came in to discuss the results today, she said “it’s ok to be sad, it’s ok to cry” and I thought geez with all the bad things that could be happening in the world right now...this is nothing!! But. She is right that this is potentially something we will worry about forever. She may have to carry an epipen forever. She may be the kid who prevents your kid from having peanut butter for snack. And that is probably bigger than I’ve processed so far. But, for now, I will continue to read food labels and fill her belly with food that she can handle and love. 💗 . #foodallergy #peanutallergy #eggallergy #allergiessuck #kidswithfoodallergies #bummer https://www.instagram.com/p/CA6lYhSFDEz/?igshid=bahejyha28zv
