and the best part is that thomas isnt a perfect soft small thing incapable of doing bad things - hes over half a foot taller than al, extremely buff a blunt weapon warrior who can be reckless and defensive and dismissive. everything that al should look out against, so much potential hurt knowing his history. and hes still kind and sweet and gentle and loves al so so much and he loves languages and art and literature and is literally the first person in als life to see how alastairs been hurt. hes the first person to see al, period.
hes like literally the perfect person to teach alastair he can love and be gentle again and hes the perfect person to learn how to love himself along al.
theyre literally everything the other needed to grow into the best version of themselves and gods i love them so so much and im literally so fucking jealous
al needed someone who will question not his good intentions but his harmful actions, who will respect him and his space and who believes in him and who will not be ashamed of him and thats exactly who tomas is :((((

thanks for asking! i see so many good ones and i post some hcs sometimes, but i don't really have a lot of headcanons in general, plus i'm easily swayed (i'm 100% behind and love both "edwin fell first/charles fell harder" AND "charles fell first/edwin fell harder" -- i saw some really good posts about both in the past few days)
but i think my favorite might be something like "charles keeps saying 'mate' with increasingly affectionate meaning until it's completely synonymous with i love you (and maybe it always was)"

Dead Boy Detectives Cards for Kindness
Because we fans are hurting and fuming both, I thought I’d do a little giveaway to battle grief and anger with kindness – because that is what most of the DBDA characters have in abundance. So if you like, I’ll send you one (or more) of these cards.
I won’t charge for them, but ask that you spread kindness by donating (e.g. to a local foodbank, or to organisations who fight climate change or fascism, or those that support minorities), helping out a friend, neighbour, community member etc., or generally doing something nice for yourself, others or the environment.
You must be willing to give me your (or a) postal address to send the card to. I’ll be waiting until next Sunday (8th September) before I start sending them out.
