Edd and Future Edd quickly grow into becoming an incredibly doting couple, as they’re always praising each other and kissing so very often. Of course, they also shower each other with so much damn cola every single day, but FE in particular feels like he NEEDS to give Edd more gifts in comparison, in order for himself to be on what he perceives as ‘equal’ footing.
Edd doesn’t question it at first, as he gladly takes in his gifts of new art supplies, video games, action figures, comics, cat and dinosaur themed stuff, etc, but it certainly gets to a point where Edd feels a tiny bit overwhelmed by his future self’s generosity, and actually tells him to slow down…. FE does indeed listen to him and takes a break from getting new gifts, but he STILL feels like he’s not ‘doing enough’….. He truly wants to ‘repay’ every single little thing that Edd has done for him, and he’s still so deeply unsure of what else he can do to help prove his love and appreciation for Edd…… it’s never going to be just enough, isn’t it?
