The urge to mix my two favorite games (Skyward sword & Sky:Cotl)
Instead of Skyloft they had the entire world of sky - but after the defeating of demise they realized there was completely new territory to explore - so they returned to the surface to start again
Hylians, creatures like the Sword Spirits, and Gorons being much closer in biology at the begining (especially with sky kids sharing a core like Fi and Ghirahim do + ghirahim clearly having an outer layer over his sword form that breaks similarly to skids in eden)
Demons thriving off the darkness while Hylians thrive off the light
Hylia being associated with birds and light (similar to light creatures and the safe areas of the map) while demise is associated with fire, reptiles, and darkness (like dark crabs, krills, and Eden)
The cycle the spirit of the hero and blood of the goddess being a sick twist on the natural cycle of light that takes place in Cotl
The tornado that knocked Zelda from the sky vs the whirlwind in the golden wasteland
Levias would easily be able to exist in sanctuary island, Krill would give a good reason for the Knights existence, Loftwings could easily be creatures of the light tied to the core of its rider
