An Echoer is an alter who played back Echoes. The may cause other alters to hear their own thoughts and feelings played back to them, or others to hear another alter’s thoughts or feelings played to them. This can be done intentionally or unintentionally, as an Echoer may play back thoughts or feelings to protectors and others with large roles to assist them in keeping others safe.

Hal böyle olunca da mobil hizmet oyuncularının geliştirdiği uygulamaların önemli bir kısmı da bu özelliğe dayanmakta. 2011 yılının en iyi start-up'ları arasında yer alarak finale kalmayı başarmış Kanada kökenli uygulamanın ismi Echoer.

Echoer temel olarak mobil cihazınızın Gps özelliğini kullanarak o an bulunduğunuz bölge etrafındaki fikirlere,yorumlara ve organizasyonlara ulaşabilmemiz amacıyla hazırlanmış. Echoer'de bir mekanla ilgili yorumlar,düşünceler ve etkinlikler görsel olarak mobil cihazımızda oldukça hoş durduğunu düşündüğüm renkli şemaların içinde yer almakta. Bu noktada hizmet tanıtım videosunu izleyerek söylediklerimizi görsel olarak takip edelim

Echeor'i telefonunuza yükledikten sonra Gps'i açarak konumuzun tespit edilmesini sağlamanız gerekmekte. Yer bulunduktan sonra haritada en çok oy almış echo'lar büyük şemalar halinde size sunulmaya başlıyor. Bu noktada beğendiniz düşünce ya da yorumlara ''Amp it'' seçeneği aracılığıyla destek verebilirsiniz. Siz bir yorum,fikir ya da etkinlik girişi yapacaksaınız (+) sembolüne basarak dilediğiniz düşünceyi ekleyebilirsiniz.

Uygulamayı ilk denemeye başladığımda çevremde fazla sayıda kişinin kullanmamasına rağmen bırakılan yorumların sayısının oldukça fazla sayıda olması dikkat çekiciydi. Bunun en büyük nedeni de daha sonra ortaya çıktı. Echoer,Foursquare'in Api'si kullandığı için mekanlarla ilgili yorumları oradan çekiyor ve bu da mobil hizmeti bir hayalet şehir olmaktan kurtarıyor. Uygulamayı kullanırken Android işletim sisteminde zaman zaman echo'ların yüklenememesi gibi teknik sorunlarla karşılaştım. Google Play Store'daki yorumları incelediğimde de benzer yorumların olduğunu söyleyebilirim. İyi bir fikir olarak değerlendirilebilecek Echo'nun en azından Android'de önemli güncellemelere ihtiyacı bulunmakta. Apple'ın ios'unda nasıl bir performans sergilediğiyle ilgili yorumlarınızı da yazının hemen altındaki yorumlar kısmında okumaktan keyif duyarız.

Echoer-New Beginning

Running a start-up has it's up and downs, but sometimes, even when it gets particularly draining, things happen that really make you really believe in what you are doing... the ups then follow pretty swiftly.

Echoer is insanely proud to be partnering with the Montreal Jazz Festival and The Montreal Gazette this year. What started off as a pitch to the world's largest jazz festival only a few months ago is now a reality. Starting today Montreal and the JazzFest venues will be filled with a true wealth of content: event listings, reviews and images from the Gazette, tips, "relevant" Twitter content, and last but not least, the thoughts and discoveries of festival-goers. And the visual icing on the cake: Festival and Gazette content will appear in bespoke echo colors, sometimes inside specially "skinned" echo spaces.

               What we are doing with the JazzFest is extremely cool and useful. It's also unique. I've been playing around with the first wave of content, and Echoer really is the perfect interactive guide to what is happening in and around the JazzFest. There's no other platform that can present you with so much varied and useful info/opinions relating to each location; and then allow you to interact with it and share it with others.

Today, the app I have been helping to build, Echoer, gets launched throughout Canada for iPhone. Echoer is a thought-sharing platform that allows you to literally see the thoughts around you at any location you’re at and leave thoughts for others to engage with. It's good, wholesome fun, and we have great plans in the works for this!
