tips for studying cardiology? you best resources? ps. you really do inspire me <3
Hello! I don’t have any tips really specific to cardiology, except that ECGs is probably the hardest part so really try to get to grips with them! I recommend the book ‘ECGs made easy’.
Oh, and murmurs are important! It’s so confusing at first but there are some good youtube videos on the different types and you can listen to them. x
Portraying Normal EKGs in Art!
Seen a few artists get this wrong but this is the basic anatomy for an ECG waveform:
You NEED the P "wave", the QRS complex, and the T wave to portray a normal rhythm.
On real monitoring equipment the waveforms can look a little fuzzier and this is usually from eletrical interference but these three pieces of the waveform are essential unless you're trying to portray a pathology (i.e. something wrong with the heart)
Fast heart beat has shorter space between QRS complexes:
And the opposite with bradycardia (slow heart beat):
