How do I get the Windows 8 boot loader back and also list both Windows XP and Windows 7?
I have a system with Windows 7 and Windows XP, and today I have installed the Windows 8 Developer Previewinto a spare partition (that I leave for a few months without any important data there). When booting from a bootable device and doing the installation, I format it so that it’s a clean and fresh…

How to resolve an non-accessible Linux on boot when there is only Windows that is accessible?
Having problems on dual boot?
The grub doesn't come up so you can choose which OS you want to load?
Can access Windows (which was the former installed OS) and not the Ubuntu (which was the latter installed)?
Disclaimer: This blog talks about a point when you have installed two or more OSes already but you aren't able to either see the grub menu or a particular option in the grub menu.
Well, this a common thing and here's a tool that can prove to be very useful.
This is only to show a snapshot of how the software looks so you know you've downloaded the right software. Download the respective needed version here: https://neosmart.net/EasyBCD/
I like what the website says "EasyBCD supercharges your Windows PC, allowing you to dual-boot to your heart's content." True that!
Once you download, you can run the executable and follow the wizard which will complete successfully.
Launch the application and you will see the below screen,
Go to the Edit Boot menu and check if the Linux you had installed is showing up. If not , not to worry. That's what we'll cover here.
If in the above screen you can see only Windows as an option, go to the tab named: Add new entry
Here, choose the Linux tab, cause here we are talking about Ubuntu. Then, in that choose GRUB 2 and choose "Locate and load automatically option". Save the setting.
Then, go to the Edit Boot Menu tab and check if the newly added menu option is present. If it's there, you want to now customize how the grub acts according to your needs. Like if you'd want to load something by default, or wait for the users input or specify a timeout.
Now, all you need to do is restart your machine and wait for this menu to turn up. You'll see that it does come up and make your life easier! Links: - https://neosmart.net/EasyBCD/ - http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/EasyBCD.shtml
EasyBCD 2.0.2 - NeoSmart Technologies
This little application saved me 3 times this week, in updating my dual-boot Pro Tools laptop to Windows 7 (for the Pro Tools partition), very impressive. "Setting up and configuring a dual-boot between Windows 7, Windows Vista, older versions of Windows such as XP & 2003, Linux, Ubuntu, BSD, and Mac OS X is a breeze. You just point & click and EasyBCD does the rest."
