     It has been a few days since the battle’s end, and those who are left have only just begun to rebuild. To grieve. Fíli, perhaps, has received the worst of that. And Tauriel — masks her grief well. At least in front of him. 

“That’s because I knew you were coming and cleaned up a bit.” She caught her breath and tucked her knife away, then arched a brow at the dwarven prince. “And yet you’re still covered in cobwebs. That’s why I said let me pick you up from outside the forest.” 

It would be awkward if Fili stepped before the King looking like an absolute mess...and it’s not like they have any clothes in dwarven size. Tauriel eyed Fili’s luggage. “Did you bring spare clothes?”
